  1. Vlad the yellow single axle could be an IH W-3042=L COE built in Emeryville,California non tilting cab. The one in center black and white photo is a IH W-4064-L COE. They were built in 1946 1947 according to the IH Truck Book by Fred W. Crimson. Joe D.
  2. Larry the model # for the IH Conco is F-4170. Conco is short for convential cabover. Joe D.
  3. Hello Tom nice to hear from you. I have not seen you at Macungie in years. I still have my B-Model registryfrom 2003. A wealth of info. for B-Models. Thanks and good luck to your Woman. Joe D.
  4. Redhoss also what Macks said about tailgate bottoming out in paver. If coal trucks in Kentucky are like up here in Pa. they have a big overhang and have a hard time in the paver. Best of luck to you. Joe D.
  5. I'll say it again Nice Dumper. Joe D.
  6. Nice looking Henry. A couple of Hendrickson originals turn signal mount and I like where they mounted the Luberfiner. Joe D.
  7. Looks good. Lots of work to convert to RHD and dash ?
  8. Paul owner must be a used car dealer their saying is " Theres an Ass for every seat" Thanks for the picture and info. Joe D.
  9. Another reason they never took of was not a lot of Dealer coverage for repairs and parts. As Brocky said good article in Nov-Dec 2010 WOT. Joe D.
  10. Not a lot of C-Model Dodge survivors. I always wondered why Doge used the 6-71 Detroit Diesel with blower on drivers side I think IH 2070 used same setup.Good luck on the sale.If anyone remembers M+G Convoy out of Buffalo New York they had the best running 6-71 Detroits in Dodge C-900's.It had to be their mechanics as we ran some 6-71 Detroits in the 1970's and they always passed us like a freighttrain passing a HoBo. Joe D.
  11. Ernie when we bought a new Brockway in 1972 they had some spec. sheets advertising 8V-53 Detroits as an option. There was a W-9 KW for sale a few years back that had a 8V-53 in it.I asked why it was discontinued once and was told HP was overlapping 6-71 and 8V-71 Detroit. It made sense to me. There was a picture somewhere of a 12V-53 Detroit sitting outside a Detroit Diesel Garage or Distributorship somewhere.Joe D.
  12. If the cleats are bottoming out they are too short or wrong spacer. I would never use a 1" gun on spoke wheels.I use a 3/4" drive ratchet it works well for me. Joe D.
  13. Jim that looks like Tony Bullards Acar. Good looking Northeast style lowboy tractor. Single axle lowboy tractors were very popular and used in the Northeast part of U.S.until the mid 1980'S. Thanks Joe D.
  14. John Chalmers Cashtown,Penna. is retiring. He has some engine parts and trim for A and Emodel Macks. His phone # is 717-334-8709. Let phone ring sometimes it takes a few rings to answer. Joe D.
  15. Whats in the R-Model ? I have a IH VF-190 549,5X3 trans tandem. It runs OK but frame is bad behind aux. trans. Joe D.
  16. Thanks Brocky I sent you an E-Mail. Joe D.
  17. Mike you cannot stand prosperity. Did you buy the Dodge dump in background ? Joe D.
  18. Very nice . I enjoyed my visit at your Museum last April. With all the new editions a return trip is necessary. Joe D.
  19. I need fenders for a 257-Brockway. I think years from 1959-1966 will fit. These are the fenders with dual headlights. They are a bit wider than 361 Brockway fenders. I would like in decent shape. Thanks for any help. Joe D.
  20. ws721 beat me to the ???. Only thing to me it looks like early cab with newer dash. Tree is in way of side shot. Joe D.
  21. With 5.46 gears and 8LL trans your low gear reduction is 79.+. More than enough gradability and startability for your work.5.46 is not really a go fast ratio most likely around 60MPH without engine screaming. That torque rating of 1950 seems high for a Mack 427 but someone else will know for sure.I would think torque rating on a Mack 427 would be in the 1600 ft.lb. range. When in paver with asphalt light pressure on brakes just enough that you do not roll out of paver a big no no.If you are in a shoulder machine we chain our gate to open 5-6 inches. If you have high crowned roads like in Northeast,Penna. try to load near the ass of box if allowed.Pucker factor if nose is loaded heavy on high crowned roads. Good luck.Joe D..
  22. Not great mileage even with a headwind. I hope it improves. Joe D.
  23. fullfuel01 KW looks like an old International Transport Truck. What are the specs on it ? Thanks Joe D.
  24. Could second picture be an Autocar.Nice picture.Joe D.
  25. Looks like a early 50'S Hudson Hornet or Wasp next to L-Model Fire Truck and a 1950 or so Chevy,Pontiac or Olds. Joe D.
