  2. Try Adelman's in Akron or Canton Ohio. They had some lift axles in the past.The way the laws are going I would go with a steerable axle. I have a Hendrickson steerable on my tri-axle dump over 10 years no problems excepting a few air bags. Joe D.

  4. I forgot to add I saw Russ Springers name in the report you posted from Bulldog Magazine. I know Russ pretty wellI do not think there many out there that knows more about Macks than Russ. He was shop foreman for Simpson Motors now Triplee Cities Mack,Scranton.Pa. for many years and now is a salesman for them. Joe D.
  5. Thanks I guess the owner retired. Even before you said about the driver being meticulous about upkeep and driving in a most professional way,I always noticed thru the years how he rarely if ever was in passing lane hammer down.It is sad circumstances do not allow you to keep ownership. Joe D.

  9. Mark the owner of the 359 has a few other Brockways for sale also. From pictures I saw they are getting beat up outside. Joe D.
  10. Vlad that is a WW2 surplus truck I forgot Brockway or White. Their 361 Brockway Wrecker started out as a tri-axle dump. It has a 335 Cummins and 5X4 trans. Paul they are still on Business Route 6 about 1 mile past the Viewmont Mall. They were about the biggest wrecker operation up till the 70'S then a lot of completion grew in the area. There are still some DeFazio Brockway's in the area. Most are pretty bad shape. There is a DeFazio 359 on Craigslist with a Huskiedrive tandem axle in nice shape but plenty $$$. Joe D.
  11. On the Brockway Truck Site their is an article that gives the drivers name and his Boss's name. It said Johnson's Towing was the wrecker company.They are still in business located on Business Route 6 Dickson City,Pa. I walked in their yard many times in the past and never saw the Brockway.   12. If you go down Moosic Street now it does not look that bad of a grade the hill is over one mile long. You have to remember this happened before the widespread use of Jake Brakes and Maxi-Brakes.It is not that hard to loose control by missing a downshift brakes a bit out of adjustment and get hot. Green Dash truck could have been owned by an outside carrier I do not know,I think the driver was from Scranton area. Tom Millard posted some info. on the Brockway Site or Just Old Trucks awhile back.I am in Florida now but when I get back I will ask him about it. AS far as the yellow banana 257 that Hazzouri had or still had that is a secret no one can find out if still owned by them. I know some people that went to talk to them and they would not even answer them. Why I do not know. It is as elusive as the Abomidable Snowman or Bigfoot.Mike69mackman I never heard about them stashing away the wrecked Brockway it could very well be true.Joe D.
  13. I live about 15 miles North of Scranton. I remember when that happened,I was in my early teens. They have a ban on trucks going down Moosic Street RT.307and enforce it pretty good.If I remember correctly the bananas were going to Hazzouri Banana in Scranton they are still in business. Truck was a 257 Brockway. Good song. Joe D.

  18. Gas engines avaible for the IH 1900 Fleestar Cab were V-8'S 401,478,549. Inline 6 were RD-406,450 and 501. Diesels were CumminsIH-DV 462,Cummins 195,220,250 and 270,Detroit Diesel 6V-71 and 6-71.This is what my sales brochures state. Joe D.
  19. Red horse I have a IH VF 190 with a V-8 549 5X3 trans tandem and a IH 2000D with a 6-71 13 speed Hendrickson rubber block. I bobtailed it home from Wapaca,Wisconsin about 10 years ago when I won the auction on it. It was a Waupaca County,Wisconsin lowboy tractor. Alternator died about 20 miles from when I picked it up no heat It was February I had to save batteries for lights. About 950 miles only stopped for fuel,I hope never again like that. Joe D.
  20. Redhorse the IH 1900 was offered with both inline 6 and V-8 gaspots.It was the 1900 series same cab as 2000D used. Joe D.
