  1. All tells "a good spent day". EH van or bus??
  2. Many thanks for the pics. It's pretty cool to see a native environment from different parts of the globe with big Mack trucks in a scenary. Your rig is one of my favorite R-models Did you go by that water fall with the load?
  3. The condition I got it in.
  4. Recently I found in the net the picture of my MH when it was in service. I would say it was made in St-Petersburg, Russia. No, that's not the city wich comes on the mind of the most of you American guys. The plates attached to it are signed in the registry papers as the previous owner's ones. The most matter of fact is the grill was solid and the stock headlights were in place. You can see the difference to the current condition showed on the below pic. Currently I'm on the way to bring her back to her normal look. Thanks to Ken (Farmer52), he suppied me with the grill and as follow got me into some job story
  5. Raji, Thank you for sharing with us Macks from your area. It's too interesting to see them from different parts of our world. Sad those R's came to the junkyard, I hope someone will save them. I myself did that with the pair of R's in my country. By the word I heard the things aren't too easy in Algeria nowadays. Are they? Vlad
  6. That seems like a small world for those who haul big yellow machines. Thank you for the neat pics and video.
  7. Bright sunshine + big red Superdog + virgin white snow = perfect pictures
  8. Those Grip-Strut's look like a way to go. Can anybody tell me what is the width of the original RW steps? 4 inches? Or 5? I want to try to order them to put on my MH tanks. And it looks they are offered of stainles steel either.
  9. Thank you for posting that interesting stuff. And the beautiful picture is with the transfer case firs in the background. Vlad
  10. Sorry to hear sad news about your friend. Thanks for the weekly report.
  11. Not a bad offer for someone who has another truck to add to.
  12. Glad to know the turn out was good. It's shure not nice to loose some cash on wrekers although it's the way of this business. Hope those good photos you made could cheer you up.
  13. The interior green looks beautiful! The door inside reinforsment plates are the way to go. Recently I found out and too surprized that stainless steel and common steel combo is a rust accelerating pair. So pay some attention to your SS mounting bolts when turn them into the nuts. I mean just put a bit of grease onto.
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. As longer we live as more people like to figure out and determine how we should to. Unbelevable BS on my mind.
  16. Thank you for the pics Tom. It's nice to see long ways while you're off the steering wheel spending time in a shop. Sometimes it's not so bad to work in a shop while the roads are snowy and icey though.
  17. Shure I'm still not far from "rookie" status although I don't remember seeing E with such the long wheelbase.
  18. I'm not shure on what Mack used for although the seem pretty much the same as common off-road fender flares. Once I was asked by a friend of mine to buy that stuff for him being in the off-road accessory shop. It was just a roll of black rubber with the soft ended edge. He fixed it alnong his fenders with self cutting screws and it was done. Forgot to mention, that band was "Made in the USA".
  19. Clean up all the rust in the windshield mounting area, hand prime it (with self etch primer-?) than put a piece of paper/masking folie into the opening, fix with adhesive band and spray the cab over. If you have any old unnecessery windshields you may put them in for masking. It shure much better to paint with no windshield rubber. Especially in the future when that rubber might be shortened up due to its drying or just getting its place. Not more than my pair of cents, your project is your headache
  20. Wow! I'm not on the HCVC and haven't heard anything about that fact. Too interesting to learn. That NJU seemed to me as a cool to have vehicle and I drooled a bit about it. Although it needed work and I resolved to not get into one more long story having many of at the moment. There was one more moment. The only NJU is an unique vehicle and I think Russia is not the best place for it. Such rare vehicles better to stay in area wich has any historical relation to it.
  21. There are two ways to go at the moment. Remove at least one head and the pan and take some pistons out to inspect the rings. Or to brake it in. Second looks easier although it's easier to locate their mistake if any. Have you note the oil level lowering?
  22. Thank you for clearing Mike. I related that hood with B73/75 and was wrong. The only question now is where to get 17500 extra cash plus shipping where to get 4 extra years of life to bring this thing to the condition I'd like to see in
  23. Best Birthday wishes to your father Randy! 75 is a good score and I too wish many more!!
  24. Paul, that's a great stuff to see! Many thanks for sharing from your neighbourhood. Some set back axler's in Europe. Interesting point some of these have British plates on although are LHD.
  25. I would say (for quite shure) NJU. A different pretty rare WW2 beast. At least the wheel base size and Timken axles point out on that. Shure if it's a Mack at all. NJU's had Mack flat head gassers from the factory. The red one in the pic is the only survivor I ever heard of of 700 units built. Cheers, Vlad
