  1. Drool! I wish I could afford it. Western Mack with V8 and a freshened up one seems to me damn attractive for the cost. Suppose it's about the worth spent to get it look like it now does.
  2. As I remember there was a very good DUNN AC offered for sale on here for 10 grand. I might be wrong, it was some while back, maybe 3 years. As for H65 and H69 I would say you well Mack-qualified folks kept a lot of silence - I have newer heard anything on this matter being on here for whole 5 years. And what is more strange, keeping my very attention to anything H-model related. And I may add, I don't smoke and so on...
  3. Paul, I though you're trained well getting alotta bright sunny days... I mean getting no heart attack watching such high polished top point beauty
  4. One thing is for sure - if someone don't want to do a dirty or just "dusty" job it means he can avoid it and be lucky at the same time. So it means he has some clean job or has income enough with no job at all. Observing that fact we get the conclusion the world became different and no need of a hard labour nowadays. Hope it will change further to force those lazy assholes to move their points they use to be sitting on. Plenty of them overhere either and more and more every year.
  5. And happy New Year!
  6. Ufff... Intersting was EN464 Thermodyne? Hope it was too late for a flat head gasser. And what such a misterious ENDL673 could be? A lightweight version with lots of aluminium components for the West coast?? And how can you determine H65 looking the picture???
  7. Aren't they PAI ones the longer ones for a R-model?
  8. I have almost never heard about Mack Junior COE! Need a bit of explanation either - what's H65? Can't imagine anything between H63 and H67 Thank you for sharing these great truck pictures. And for the one from Mahan's collection also.
  9. That's pretty interesting, thanks alot for sharing the experience. I put Lizard Skin on my "to look for" list, will try to get a set of. What amount of the product you spent for whole B-model cab?
  10. WORTHFULL. Sorry for the stupid misstype.
  11. A man should know his limitations. Especially a man with 21.5 tons "in the trunk". Sorry for the loss of the historical artifact.
  12. Maybe heavier oil could make a difference?
  13. I think they are for $29 at Finditparts. Thank you for sharing the part#, beeing wanting a couple of.
  14. I was waiting to hear "If I have that trailer I'd have no need to work at all since it's self-operating"
  15. That trailer looks like a true piece of mechanical art.
  16. I like those snowy roads. It's cool when the sun is shining and you drive with no much hurry. Beautiful scenaries. Not too easy to drive though when it's snowing and so on. By the word it's currently some degrees above the freezing point and the snow is almost gone overhere. Hope to get it back before the New Year.
  17. Harry, thank you for the detailed explanations. It just seems difficult to me to order a set from overseas and I'm not sure both local mail and custom service would be eager to pass a pack of liquid stuff. On the other hand I can just go to a nearest automotive shop and buy some cans/spray cans of toluine-based poliurethane resin wich makes a rubber-like skin on a surface, a kind like modern cars have on their bodies and wheel arches. I used that material many times and it works perfect for corrosion protection. Limits sounds and heat income in theory and as how it is described by the producent. Usually I apply made-in-Germany or Eastern Europe stuff. I sure would like to test Lizard Skin since folks on here tell it's good. Alot of worthless worthfull advices on here. Going to put my hands on the R-model cab in the future. It's actually far from to be silent, difficult to talk with a cell phone when down the road. Currently I do the sleeper, put the local made bithum matts wich were similar to Dyna mat. Hope to start on the cab in some months.
  18. Twin steer H's seem very rare. At least I don't remember any talks about them nor pictures. Too like pre-war B's and C's.
  19. Cool Macks! Especially RW. Welcome! Vlad
  20. Congrats on the deal JT. I feel for you but you did what you had to and it's done. Anyway you've got a big lot of experience of owning a big toy what doesn't seem an easy thing (to me), especially being not a mechanic yourself. Hope in the end it was a deal not a steal.
  21. Welcome on here!
  22. The airbags train is my today's favorite. And all the rest of the things with red hoods is nice. Merry Christmas!
  23. Thank you for those Winfall Santa girlfriends! Merry Christmas!
  24. Merry Christmas BMT!
  25. Too interesting facts, thank you for pointing me out. I sure will check the cylinder geometry after installation, at least to avoid any abnormal issue. The engine I'm going to put my hands on was a factory rebuild unit with machined liner seat holes. The liners (together with pistons) were new there with no miles on. Some stupid guys just layed it on the ground in the yard for some years, probably being headed to scrap it in the end. Some water came in through the injector holes and rotted the liners. Although it was possible to make measurments. I did it and was surprized a bit since the liners were honed up to the upper limit of their size to be machined to. It seemed strange to me, if I hone a block (or do it in a shop) I'd make it about a lower limit or near a middle of a range.
