  4. Not sure what's go n on but in some cases the rubber 'O' rings B Tween the 2 chambers start leaking in the maxibrake and when U release the parking brake by pushing the big button in on the dash air leaks into the service brake chamber and gently applies the brakes on the oposite wheel or leaks out the quik release valve other way of checking is take the service brake hose off the maxi and see/hear if air is leaking out the brake port on the maxi ThemsTheBrakes cya
  5. When a wheels is run loose it can wear a few items to make it un tighterable we build up the wheel spacer to take up the slack the wear created

  7. Gr8 info Geoff our older trucks have drain taps fitted to bottom of air tanks once a week we let the tanks drain over night and note any oil or sludge on the ground next day With the compressor govonor cut out @ max 120 the commpressor is free wheeling and the air is sukd through the engine air supply if the engine air cleaner a little clogged the engine can suck oil up past the compressor piston rings and enter the wet (#1) air tank and gradully move thru the air system we also notice some trailers have the main air supply line 1/2" to charge trailer air system U need to hold the buttin in @ the cab control where by a 3/8" supply line the button dose not need to held in as the supply of air is a little less demand from the truck ifn U get my drift LOL cya

  11. Sounds like a process of elimination if you cruising along can u take the stik out of gear as in nuetral let the engine go to idle revs then rev upto the same revs as when U hit neutral and the gear stik should slide back in to the same cog no need for clutch on this proceedure cya

  14. When we converted 1000x20 to 11R22.5 we also ran tubed and tubless side by side in a dual set up with no worries the Diameter is the same and no worse than running different treads, wear, PSI etc the cost of tubleless is a lot cheaper than tubed + Tube + rust band cya
  15. Before it gets blasted put 3 or 4 layers of maskin tape neatly cut to size of the Fontaine plate and warn the blasted blaster 2 B CAREFULL ...................... or else LOL cya
  16. Me thinks normally U lift handle to open push down on handle to lock sometimes if the handle has been pushed down & thru lack of use being locked can cause trouble unlocking we never lock our trucks that way we get longr life outa the key and lock barrel cya
  17. MRS U got your ears on If U hang up with a folding gooseneck unlock both gooseneck locking arms Drive forward and it can lift the deck it will either get U going or U will be hung up worse dependin on how bad the hump is have dun it many times ovr the years cya

  22. the early maxidynes with a 5 speed relied on a good clutch brake to kill revs Btween gears the next V: they used the engine brake to kill the revs and do a quik shift. U could pull the gear lever stright thru ,It twas the next best thing to a automatic U did half the gear changes compared to a screemer /road ranger set up The late 60's we fitted jake brakes to B61 mack with Quadbox ....most effective in saving brakes as most Lowboys of th@ era had air over Hyd brakes thinkn way back wen Engine brakes produced ruffly 90% of retardation power of the engine HP rule of thumb twas wot ever gear U pull a load/hill U could go down the hill with the same load & gear with only lightly fannin the brakes to control the rev speedmy tax my taz free info for the day LOL cya
