  1. How many different Mack CA cabs were there. I think there were 47's or 67's on the R's.I noticed on a thread here that the west coast RL's had a CA 123. Where does the plus 3 cab fit in. Those west Coast rigs were really sharp the way the cab and hood sat higher. Those west coast R 700's and valueliners were good trucks.
  2. I remember that ad as well. I wonder what they are driving now?
  3. Looks like a lengthened ch hood. I am confused. I can't see how this works.
  4. Randy. The Lord works all things for His purposes. Your son gave his full measure and your grandboy can surely be proud of him. Get that boy a monster mall. There almost as good as a log splitter and a lot cheaper. Will make the grandson strong like bull.
  5. Great information KS. I guess the modified Mack v8 lives on at Scania.
  6. Tractors with dump trailers were popping out of the woodwork on 95 in Ct. Mostly Paccars. So much for the CH's and granites replacing the R's in Ct.
  7. Same old story with American and Canadian unions. Company says we are going to shut the doors and move to greener pastures and the union doesn't budge. You can thank the unions for the great rust belts of the Midwest.
  8. :SMOKIE-RT:I believe those were rosa master pumps developed by a Stanadyne engineer. The one rotating element had to supply all 6 or 8 cylinders. To much work for one part. Unlike the in line and v bosh pumps where each plunger could take a rest while the other 5 or seven supplied fuel. These pumps were on the early ford 6.9's and 7.3's. Would usually last about 100,000 miles. Rebuilds were about 300-400 dollars. Now one new ford injector is about 350.00 dollars. I think we are going backwards as far as maintenance costs and replacement parts.
  9. Baby Jesus says lets play nice in the sand box fellow Watter's. Looks like New York 2 is catching up fast.
  10. How about some pictures and information on White motor corporation Trucks. In the day they were a big competitor of Mack, There were just as many White 9000's around as B-61's. They made a lot of there own components. They were plentiful in the Midwest east and south. They may have outsold Mack for a few years. For such a large corporation there isn't much info on the net. They were large enough to buyout Sterling, Diamond-t Autocar, Reo and Euclid. I know Volvo wiped out there trucks. Did they wipe out their history also.
  11. Who has access to delete. Should just be the administrators.
  12. 57 BCR. I remember those green and yellow FWD McHenry mixers. I imagine they are out of business by now.
  13. The Military has been buying foreign trucks for a while. The US army had 100's of freightliners.
  14. How are the Value-Liner fenders attached to the frame? It looks like the fenders and hood are one piece.
  15. May be they are trying to let the other cities/states catch up.
  16. What's with all this salt? Did the price of sand(dirt) get to high. Car washes are going to make a killing.
  17. :twothumbsup:You are right National had a ton of those F models both both 80 and 50 inch BBC. I don't think they have had Mack since. Maybe some cruiseliners.
  18. One of the Mack executives of that time said that he thought the LT was the finest west coast truck of the time. I guess Paccar wasn't paying attention.
  19. I was going to my grand daughters Ice skating show in Granby Ct on 10 and 202 heading towards Simsbury and ought of the corner of my eye I saw a bunch of Mack dumps. on the left. Anybody know anything about them. I didn't have time to go back and look.
  20. That brings up an interesting question. Who Made the first tilt COE. And what was the first tlit for each manufacturer
