  7. unfortunately, this is the new america. give everyone that asks anything they want, without any repercussions except for a promise to revote the givers back into office when election time comes. and this is the exact reason Donald Trump was elected president, the working people had enough of paying for the handouts
  8. i had a 62 4 door with a 250 six and 3 on the tree. 64 2 door with 409 2 four barrels and 4 speed, 65 2 door 250 six auto, 65 2 door 327 4 speed, 67 2 door 307 auto, 68 2door 307 auto, 69 4 door 350/375HP auto ex NYSP cruiser, and a 71 2dr convertable with 402 and 4 speed. and all 8 of those were over a 10 year period. only lost money on one of them, the 62 six cylinder was rear ended by a drunk driver with no license or insurance. paid $50 for it, got $40 over the scales.

  14. depends on where you are. here in Jersey trucking rate is only around $85 per hour.
  15. for us it was a chevy C-65 chassis with 350 small block, 5 speed trans, and a thomas bus body. the local apple farmer owned all the school buses in town. and they were all the same exact thing.
  16. we were supposed to get around 18 inches. but the storm tracked west along the delaware river and we only ended up with 6 inches. 2 of snow and 4 of sleet and then finished with rain which turned it all to solid ice once the sun went down.

  21. if the trailer does not have ABS it will work fine. it would be safer to convert to negative ground though

  23. back in the late 70's Kings supermarkets in Maplewood NJ was across the street from the post office on a narrow street. unloading zone was in an alley between two buildings. to make a delivery you had to run the Mack MR cabover with a 23 foot pup trailer, and run the tractor over the curb, then up the 5 steps in front of the post office to the first landing so you could line up to get in the alley. then once in the alley you had to stop and fold your mirrors in to reach the dock.
  24. here in Joisey it is a $3800 fine for hand held cell phone use in a commercial vehicle. calls or texting. and Bob, as of 1-03-2012 the federal fine is $2,750, not $1500: Drivers who violate the restriction will face federal civil penalties of up to $2,750 for each offense and disqualification from operating a commercial motor vehicle for multiple offenses. Additionally, states will suspend a driver’s commercial driver’s license (CDL) after two or more serious traffic violations. Commercial truck and bus companies that allow their drivers to use hand-held cell phones while driving will face a maximum penalty of $11,000.
