  1. is there a way to switch from opening threads on first post to opening them on last post when clicking on view unread content?
  2. i think this guy built my house. there is not one square corner in the whole place.
  3. this is what i get on both links. Sorry, there is a problem The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. Error code: 2C171/1
  4. my 606's are just about 4 years old now and are almost ready for a resole.
  5. video link is no good.
  6. there used to be a lot of them intercrashionals here on the east coast with green leakers in them. especially 6-71's. you could hear them coming from 1/2 mile away
  7. i really like the picture of ole Gus earning his keep with the loaded trailer hooked up.
  8. yup, all the R's i ran had wear plates there to keep the cab from wearing through the fiberglass of the hood.
  9. Tulsa manufacturing and Marmon-Herrington are two that i know of. as for cost, it would probably be more than the truck is worth
  10. a lot of money, or a 4X4 donor truck to get the parts from.
  11. we would never be allowed to get away with scratching the surface for footings. here in joisey we have to go down AT LEAST 3 feet, my town wants 4 foot
  12. how deep was the water in/on the truck? also, what was done after the flooding? was the engine, trans, pump, and rear drained, refilled, started and ran for a while? that will make a big difference on whether it is even worth messing with. 5 years untouched after being submerged in salt water can do A LOT of damage. you may get into it and realize it is not worth repairing.
  13. boy ain't that the truth!!! sometimes you can't even give them away. we just donated our old ladder truck to another counties fire acadamy because we could not give it away. 97 sutphen 125 foot cherry picker with 1200 GPM pump and 1000 gallon tank. fully loaded. no takers after being offered to any fire department that wanted it for 6 months.
  14. the only thing "fool proof" is the fool
  15. when you are pulling a trailer like that guy was, there is always light coming through the rear window.
  16. that is the difference between a driver and a steering wheel holder. i had a steering wheelholder tell me a few years ago that i was lying when i said i could feel a tire going flat driving down the road
  17. who is going to insult everyone and spout nonsense now??
  18. apparently someone told him of the goof, cause listing is now changed to E-9 V8
  19. man made an inline 10, and volkswagon made a V10 for use in the touareg
  20. i noticed that too. never saw a E7 V8
  21. i was gonna say the same thing. never saw a V10 diesel. even the air cooled Deutz was either V8 or V12.
  22. they look even better in person.
  23. i ran a 79 brockway 761 with a 8V92 detroit and 13 speed pulling a low boy trailer all over the east coast in the 80's. we also had a 1970 Diamond Reo tandem tractor with the 8V71 13 speed combo that was hooked to the dump trailer. 2 terex TS36 scrapper pans with 12V71 front and 8V71 rear power. a terex dozer with 671 power, a poclain excavater with 12V71 detroit power, and 2 275 michigan loaders with 12V71's detroits. when the bossman died in 91 his son sold all the old detroit powered machines for enough money to replace most of them with new cat machines. he traded the two tractors for a 79 V8 superliner that came with a new 350 six cylinder and an 18 speed trans to replace the tired V8. i really wish i still had that Brockway, it was a beast.
  24. maybe where you are, but here on the east coast 2 stroke detroits are rarer than hens teeth!!
  25. mark all forums read is blank after you push the button too. seems like the latest "update" screwed up a whole lot of things.
