    those port authority MB wreckers were good for the bridges and tunnels, but when sold they removed the counter weights off the front bumpers. which then made they way too nose light, and if you hooked to anything with weight you lost steering. i found that out the hard way. and with the super short wheelbase, they rode like crap. i remember when the USPS used to run MB tandem tractors to move mail between sorting facilities.

    overall it is a good truck. at 6 foot and 300 lbs, i would like a bigger cab, and i would rather have a 18 speed trans for hills. with the 8 speed i find myself either in too low, or too high a gear on hills because i can not split the high side of the trans.

    only real issue was the center exhaust manifold cracked around 245k miles. so while it was apart we put new turbos on it too, because they recommend replacing between 200 and 250k. other than that the only breakdown since we got it 9 tears ago was last week when the lower rad hose split getting off the highway and i was down for 45 minutes waiting for a new hose to get to me.

    my 05 T800 with 475 C-13 and 8LL runs side by side with the 2000 W900 with 550 C-15 and 18 speed, and the T880 with 550 ISX cummins and auto trans at 80,000 lbs

    correct on the tire size. if i remember correctly they only ran 10X24 rubber on the front of the trucks with heavy spring packs.

    as was already said, Mack MB model. produced between 1963 and 1978

    when mine did that it was a bad high pressure switch in the AC circuit. a bad coolant temp sensor on the back of the rear head will do it too.

    i want to know: how did he know the person that knocked down the signs was a jackass? it might have been a douche nozzle, or cork sucker.

    make sure to get an extended cab truck if you go for a T800. the standard T800 cab is SMALL!! i can touch the passenger side door from the driver seat, and it feels like i am sitting in an airplane the cab is so small. and i am only 6 foot tall.

    me thinks he stopped to offer this poor unfortunate lady a ride and she now has him locked up in her sex dungeon

    check the rubber blocks between the springs and the spring caps. if the alignment dowel breaks off in the spring, the rears will shift about 2 inches on takeoff and stop causing the spring to move in the caps until the "T" on the end of the spring hits the cap. easy way to check is to have someone stand along side the truck and watch the wheels as you take off hard and brake. you will easily see the rears move. we bought a 05 Granite one that was bad for so long the springs actually wore a groove into the caps.

    seems someone was really pissed at BMT to hack the site twice in two days, and knew when to do it to get maximum effect. if hackers would only put half the effort into finding a job that they do into making other peoples life hard, i bet they would find it is much easier being honest!!!

    it took me a while to get in through the back door, because someone locked it when they left and i had to find the proper key. . i sent a private message to Barry, and he knows about the problem. probably working on it now.

    i know quite a few people with 6.7 powered F-750's. and they love them. they say they are much better trucks than the mercedes powered sterlings.
