  1. Did anyone let the marketing genius that wrote this press release in on the fact that the "new" Chevy and GMC low cab forward trucks are NPRs with a different badge on the front just like they always were before the GM Isuzu hiatus? Mine says GMC on the front and on the horn button but it says Isuzu on every sticker and data plate on the truck. It seems from the article that they are suggesting it is a different truck competing with Isuzu. If you go for the gas motor you get a GM 6.0 and a GM transmission. I don't know about other areas but we have an Isuzu truck dealer within 20 miles in any direction. The best thing about this though is that while they were apart, GM dealers could get parts for the trucks but there were issues with warrantees (friend that works parts at local GMC/ Isuzu dealer told me this, I'm assuming he was right) so this should take care of that. It seems that they are saying that Chevy dealers wont work on your NPR unless you glue a bowtie to the front.
  2. Haven't had any time to work on this for the last few months but I got a couple of things done, sound deadener, cut the carpet, had the edges bound and started on the rear interior panel. I got a nice set of seats out of a nearly new Ford Fusion for 50 bucks, I think they will work nice. Need to get a seat mounted so I can test drive it up and down the street before I paint and hang the front sheetmetal.
  3. Amen. I walked by Trump tower yesterday. Not one single protester (snowflake ) on site. It was about 10am so they might not have rolled their sorry asses out of bed yet or maybe the DNC and Soros checks didn't clear.
  4. They used the 57-59 A series cab for these with different front sheetmetal. Same cab and interior as mine but steering wheel on the wrong side
  5. Herbie and his family are some of the best people I've ever met.

  7. Nice truck, 7.3 is the best way to go. 6.0 is the express lane to an empty wallet. Mechanic next door to me makes a good living doing egr coolers, head gaskets, injectors etc. on 6 liters.
  8. Wiring about 90% taking a while but I'm getting there.
  9. I was thinking that too, but there isn't a cut out corner for the air filter tube on this one. I think this is a 70 series b cab because it came with fenders that had the flat extension pieces from the rear of the fenders to the cowl. I couldn't figure out what it was for until I looked at Sandy Angus' B73 (hurstscrambler just posted a photo of it at the detailing shop) a few years ago and the light bulb over my head came on (dimly). I still may be wrong about this which wouldn't surprise me one bit.
  10. No glovebox stuff but I measured the hood and took these photos
  11. I think I might. I have a hood that came off a b73 or b75. Let me know the measurement front to back at the hinge and I'll measure the one I have.
  12. He's got other headlights for it that haven't gone on yet. The search for rear hubcaps is ongoing.
  13. My friend Victor came by this morning. He just finished converting his 39 ED from a rack body to a tow truck. Came out pretty damn nice.
  14. Original owner of my single axle Autocar told me he pulled a triaxle tank trailer with it. Later on he added a pusher though
  15. That cleaned up nice, been parked outside for a couple of years.
  16. Sold / traded in a lot of vehicles over the years just did my best to not look back. The one I really regret was selling my '70 Chevelle for the down payment on the house my ex wife lives in.
  17. Yeah the satin black doesn't blow up everyone's skirt but I'm partial to the hot rod look. It's going to have a lot of red and white pinstriping
  18. Well I got back at it and made some progress, Plumbed the A/C and heat, made a lexan fan shroud and mounted the electric fan, painted and mounted the shutters and started to get the wiring octopus under control.
  19. Busybody do gooders getting themselves elected to city and town councils and writing restrictive sign bylaws that make it impossible to get permits for these and also these are really expensive to build now. I did a google search and found photos of them in their natural habitats
  20. Finally got the last of 30 signs up. Saved the biggest for the last. 2 weeks from now we get to take them all down.
  21. That's a stock Autocar grill guard. Seems like all of them in New England had one.
