So I gathered up all the small pieces I've been collecting over the years to pick out the best trim stuff in the pile. Turned out to be a lotta stuff. I'll have to have a yard sale when I'm done with this. No new chrome in the budget but I've got my Harbor Freight buffer. Things are shining up pretty good although there is a lot of pittting. Got headlights wired and working, I'm going to modify the parking lights into park/turn signals. I also saw a really nice R model wrecker today, I'm not as good as OD with the 70mph photos.

Hi Bob, might not be 100% but it's going for a trip to the fairgrounds, Got headlights done yesterday. Found out something interesting today, I thought the hood I used was a B61 but there aren't any holes for the diesel emblems, must have been off a gas job.

Progress report. Got the bottoms of both doors rebuilt, painted them inside and out and reunited them with the cab after being off for 15 years. I can't believe it's been so long since I took the original truck apart but I don't want to rush things you know? Now onto fitting power windows new glass. window channels and locks.

Ow! That makes my eyes hurt.

My Shertzer was sitting in the woods for quite a few years. No rot on the frame because someone stripped the wood off of it. This one has the axle bolted directly to the frame too, no suspension. Only problem is that it's so damn short not too much fits on it.

Was that truck sitting outside the station on Rt. 44 about 18 years ago?
-
Rotted liner? 5K miles in 10 years might have had bad antifreeze or too much water. My NH 250 Cummins lost a liner that way rot hole behind an o ring from just sitting.

That truck was converted to manual transmission during it's working life. Dave Mauro somehow knew where the allison was stored and when he bought and restored the truck reunited them. Not only is the underside as nice as the top side the brake shoes are even painted to match the frame and they were just as shiny. -
yeah we talked about that last year at Macungie

Always makes me nervous at shows when people let their 10 or 12 year olds take off through the crowd with a golf cart.

Tire guy showed up right after lunch he had good timing. Ever go to the Brockton Fair when you hung around Brockton in your youth Carl?
-
Saw them first thing yesterday morning pulling dump trailers.

Brockton Ma. Fairgrounds yesterday mostly newer stuff but it gets bigger every year and more older stuff has been showing up. Got me primed for Macungie. Mack stuff: One of these days I'm going to find a single axle R model like French's. Love that truck

Wish I could unsee that
