I get the Kirker Mack red single stage polyurethane from TP tools. It's around a hundred bucks.

Mastering the Art of Shifting a 10-Speed Transmission

30- 40 years ago ( holy shit I'm getting old) there was a roach coach on every construction job I was on and even at the car dealer I used to work at. Now they have completely disappeared and you need to to go searching for lunch. I miss them. -
R Model w/3208?
66dc75 replied to Jeff M's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Had 2 3208s one in an L8000 and one in a f8000 4 speed allisons both boom trucks. Swapped in a RT910 into the Louisville which gave me something to do while waiting to get up to speed. Man were they slow. Didn't matter how cold it was I would just bump the starter and it was running. Neither one ever let me down though. -

More pulled off. I wish I could find the guy who built this just so I could get a look at him and see if he has a lobotomy scar. -

I'm probably going to leave well enough alone with the rear suspension. I know a guy who filled a tray under his deck plate with concrete, may I can come up with some plate steel for weight -

Whoever built this toolbox / deck plate/ dance floor had to be a sociopath or an utter maniac. C channels welded to the frame flanges then the whole thing was built on the truck so getting it off means cutting it up into little pieces. Actually happy it's coming off the more I look at it the worse it looks to me. -

When I bought this from Tom Amaducci he gave me a power steering setup for it. Anybody know lf the pump bolts onto any air compressor? The pump came bolted to an old compressor but the one in the truck looks like a fairly recent replacement. Also looks like the dipstick tube is occupying the same space as the pump but I think it can be reshaped. -

The more I think about it I'll probably just change the gearing. I actually would like to keep the spokes. It would be a whole lot cheaper and I am a cheap bastard. It would be nice to have airride though. -

So after 5 years I'm going to get back at this (can't rush these things). Started to cut off the ugliness on the back. Not a lot of frame beyond the rear spring hanger and the pintle hitch is pretty awful. I've been thinking of getting an air ride cutoff and upgrading to hub pilot although then I'll have to do something with the front to match.. it would be nice to get the gearing to around 3.70 to get more highway friendly. Got a couple of toolboxes on the shelf that will fit behind the cab nice. Also time to ditch the air assist and put on the power steering that's been sitting in the toolbox since I bought it 7 years ago. -
The air control is supposed to be able to feather the body down but that's a fairy tale. I put a one way restriction valve at the pump. Full flow going up and adjustable flow going down.

My 02 Npr / w4500 has a 5.7 small block. Easiest engine replacement we've ever done. Gotta love a cabover to work on.
