Who does this?
66dc75 replied to Lmackattack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Doctors could use that photo to induce vomiting -
Actually both, cut all the rust out but didn't want to do 5-6 little patches so put some rust reformer stuff on and welded an overlay on. Hard to tell from the photos but that door has a pretty thick skim coat of bondo on it from a previous paint job, overlaying brought the metal closer to the same level as the rest of the door. I was planning on being there yesterday but the others guys couldn't go and I haven't got much done lately, hoping to get the fenders on this week.

Got a few more small things done, interior lights, front shocks, patched the passenger door and made and installed kickpanels with speakers. I need to get under the dash and finish tying the wiring harness up. I got some gas struts off amazon for the hood. I held the randomly ordered mounting bracket up to the Mack bracket that was on the hood and THE HOLES MATCHED UP PERFECTLY! The pistons worked out great, they don't push the hood up when it's closed and holds it up just right. Found some time to relocate the toolboxes on the new crane truck from on top to under the body.

Fired up the vinyl plotter yesterday and put some lettering on it. One of these days I'm going to learn how to hand letter and stripe.

Need help identifying Cummins engine
66dc75 replied to Tony Ingram's topic in Engine and Transmission
NH 250 was non turbo and did not have external injector lines, just a line to the front head and a return from the rear. -
Could have had an NH220 too in those trucks the engine was laid over to the right.

Why I like staying at the Holiday Inn Express...
66dc75 replied to RowdyRebel's topic in Odds and Ends
When I started in the sign business we used to do a lot of traveling to do installs. The boss would give us his American Express card to stay wherever and eat whatever we wanted. He said we were away from home making him money so we should at least eat good. Steak, lobster king crab, scrapple, we were spoiled. Now I 'm happy if there is a waffle maker in the breakfast room. -

I've using Hagerty, 3 trucks under $500 a year and they let me pull my trailer as long as I'm only hauling my stuff. They sent me this email today, looks like they are embracing old trucks. https://contentsharing.net/actions/email_web_version.cfm?recipient_id=2743836350&message_id=13987629&user_id=HAGERTY&group_id=4054938&jobid=36542083

Cool old R model
66dc75 replied to sodly's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
That truck is a couple of towns over from me. I looked at it a few months ago. Walorz trucking used to be an authorized Mack service center. The B model which is advertised with this truck was restored by them i believe for a customer who didn't pick it up and it became their's so it was relettered. It seems that the family hired a 3rd party to sell the trucks. The asking prices are pretty high and they have been for sale for well over a year now. That R model has been outside the whole time but it is as solid as it looks in the photos. Being a Mack parts and service dealer they probably had a new steering wheel hanging around, just me guessing and I have been known to be wrong. -
yup just getting broken in

Customers keep sending me bigger and heavier signs to put up and my old 45 year old Skyhook sign crane wasn't always quite up to it. So onto the interwebs I went, every crane I called about locally seemed to get sold the day before I called. A crane dealer one town over had this one on their website but it turned out they were just doing a courtesy ad for a customer and the truck was in Bloomfield Ohio. Made some calls found a local mechanic to look at it (he turned out to be a founding member of BMT small world, huh?) got a loan and a driveaway company and it showed up last night. I really wanted a single axle R model crane truck but they are non existent so the KW is a good runner up. Seems like most of these are on F800s with rust issues. Now I can go pick things up and put them down.

1978 Diamond Reo electrical
66dc75 replied to cxn613's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
The wire from the load side of the brake light switch goes through the turn signal switch and you will have left and right turn signal leads coming from the switch to go to the rear of the truck. These will also take care of the brake lights. There are 2 other leads from the switch that run the front turn signals which are isolated from the rears so the fronts don't come on with the brakes. Most of the time green is right yellow left and brown running lights. If you have left and right leads already hooked up disconnect the wire bugged off the brake switch and see if everthing goes normal -

Brothers are Frank, Fetch, Paul and Andy. Frank broke away on his own many years back and owns Horseless Carriage. Andy (passed away a few years back) ran the moving business. Fetch is retired, and I think Paul works for Frank at HC They had locations in Paterson NJ and Hialea Fl S Malatesta moving has been shut down for a while now. Former S Malatesta White 3000 giving my Acar a lift. All original paint just a little re-lettering work.

Moving forward, Set the shutters up for cable operation, put a vacuum pump on the a/c, it held vacuum for 24 hours so I guess I can charge the system now. Got the radiator shell and hood on today and I need to do some adjustin'. Nice to get in drivers seat and finally see a buldog's ass out in front of me.

Could edge the whole lawn in under 30 seconds -
Now that I've seen a video of myself in my b pick up I'm thinking I would have been better off with an R model. I look like Maggilla Gorilla on his mini bike. Jay, Thanks again for going over the crane truck for me. I appreciate it.

Love to buy that but I just spent a lot of money on a crane truck this morning.
