That top truck is S model KW out of the mid to late sixty's It has I think 12 - 71 twin turbo blah blah not real sure makes I think around 600 hp I reckon it would have been to lots of truck shows and won a whole heap of prizes Swishy is the man for this he would be able to spill the beans and Aussie KW's better than me Paul

you are not meant to split the gears with the deep reduction stick and it should not be able to be shifted unless its 1st there is a mechanical inter lock inside the top of the box to prevent this And the deep reduction is such a big step I dont think it would be practical to try and split the gears anyway hope that answers your question some one else who knows more about the transmission numbers than me might be able to put me right Paul could you change the diff ratios ??

Can you here air leaking past the knob all the time if so it would be a good indication the regulator is set to high and whats the story with the D 8 ????? just wondering Paul

yep as terry has said if the air pressure is to high as soon as you flick the switch it tries to shift but the straight cut sliding dogs prevent it from shifting until theres no pressure on the gears ie when you take the load off either backing off the gas going up a gear or when you push the clutch in changing down the only other thing I could think it might be is the the sliding dog or the gears are badly worn but I would lean towards the air pressure Paul

yeah sure did have DM 800's were still left hand drive Yeah Vlad I feel your right as soon as I stumbled across it again I was pretty sure it wasnt a R 800 but thought I better whack it up just the same Paul You blokes really need to get a copy of this book -
