WOW what a great read some one over that way should get an old Maxidyne load it up go out on the roads and do some time trials add it the story I think a lot of us might be surprised and would add a modern touch to a great read I think a lot of people would be surprised how well these pull even now even better do some trails against some modern trucks of the same class I think there would be some shocked faces even more so if you add the fuel figures and that Maxidyne bark OH baby sounds so much better than some young boys cruising around with there DOOF DOOF music going great read thanks for sharing Paul

  19. In Australia back in the late seventys early eightys there was a series of tests run out here and the number one thing to change to improve MPG was the way the drivers drove number two was speed that trucks drove at not all these air deflectors or flashy things hanging off motors and I dont think much has changed If you want better MPG slow down sit back enjoy the view take your time it only adds ten minutes to the day but the day is so much nicer Paul
  20. I wonder at what speed it becomes cost effective if you only averaged 50 MPH gotta slow for towns hills ect would it be still worth while if you did 60 MPH is it worthwhile on most runs in Australia even though everyone goes like a cut cat you still need to be able to unload at the other end and driving quicker results in sitting for longer at the other end so perhaps if they just slowed down fuel econ would be better anyway Paul
  21. great story that it shows how some times persistence pays off in the end Paul
  22. shifting lots of different gear there dosnt look like the jobs gunna get boring any time soon Paul
  23. Mate Im no expert on anything much in life but one thing I know for sure once a truck reaches a certain age it wont mater what you do it wont increase in value but they are still worth keeping on the road The sting in the tail for your truck is that it has taken so long and that is three weeks the truck hasnt been earning money if you paid good money and got it back straight away things would be different The real sting in the tail will be if you get your truck back and theres still a problem hope that dosnt happen so the answer to your question no I doubt the truck is worth anymore seeya Paul
