That's way low... My 285 will pull almost 30psi on a good pull... Some Simple things to check first would be looking for a boost leaks,filter clogged, charge cooler clogged, turbo fin damage. My 285 had low boost and high egt temps. I found that my turbo was bad. A crack in the turbos exhaust housing allowed it to melt the internal passage near the blades of the turbo. It was melted so bad that center section allowed The exhaust to bypass the exhaust fins thuss it was not building boost like it should have been.

I was able to visit with Norm and his wife about a month ago. I always made it a point to stop and see them during my once a year trip to California if our schedules permitted. Norm has thinned his collection but he always has some rare items at his yard. It was great to see they are still having fun with the old Mack's.

That truck was in the movie but not as the main truck. They used a TATRA for the tanker truck and it was twin gas jobs both supercharged. Not even a belching diesel for the EPA certified wasteland ? The cab was buchered to hell to make it look "cool" I saw the movie a few Days ago and was not all that impressed with what should have been a great move 30 years in the making. The cars and trucks were way over done, No Mel Gibson, and the new Max was basicly a Squad leader for the 5 Cheerleaders that he was saving. I dont want to spoil the whole movie but the new Max does not cut it. he is way soft and talks to much. Just my .02

I have also always did the 1-2-3 in low then go into direct 3-4-5. Gotta get your road speed up to make the shift out of low and most times 1st and 2nd are just to slow on anything besides pavement.

Also ....who wants to go to a midwest show in the cold and wet season? I attended the con expo show in Vegas years back and was very impressed with the town,weather and the show. Let's face it. If your going to travel you might as well enjoy where your at not just what's inside the building.

I always said the same about the low sided Hilbilt I have. I looked heavy but never was. I could load it front to back up to the sides and still be a few thousand under and right on the money on axle weight.

the trailer electrical cable starts on the driver side, out side fire wall at the electrical junction block. It then runs down to the frame where it joins in a bundle of air lines at the driver side frame rail. It runs along the driver side rail and exits at the rear of the cab. this is where its up to you. Most day cabs have the air/electrical lines located in the center of the deck plate just behind the cab near the pogo stick. sometimes it exits up and are mounted behind the cab more behind the drivers seat. I think this location is decided depending on what the truck will be used for and what other stuff was installed on the truck after it left the factory. Hope this helps. 1900 no load.....you have the dreaded low rpm motor? You can have the pump recalibrated to a 2100 rpm spec and that should give you some more powere. I would have them bump up the fuel 10-15% at the same time.

Blowby really can only come from a few places. 1. Bad/ broken/ worn piston or rings 2.bad valve guides 3.bad turbo center section 4 blown head gasket.( this would be more obvious) Might try a Leak down test with the valve covers off to see if it's leaking thru the head or thru the piston rings.

I never heard of Traxsomex? I assume a Mexican company that assembled Macks?

Me again.. LOL on my RS The passenger side cables run out the back of the battery box, over the bellhousing then over to the starter. the Drivers side cables are much shorter and also meet up at the starter I have seen Some R models run the passenger side cables under the Engine/Transmission while others they routed over the top. Im not sure what my truck was stock as I removed my old cables and dont recall

I found a picture on the internet that shows a short hood white superliner in Mexico. it looks like a standard R model cab but the hood was contoured at the cowl to accommodate the cab. I think I saved it let me look....

Yes it Is located near where the 2 heater hoses enter the cab. Located in the center of the firewall.

Where in Utah are you? I went thru there yesterday. Took I-80 all they way across

Thanks for the warm thoughts everyone. It was a "ruff" day but I think the wife and I know it was for the better. Al, Tommy always asked about Mack when ever he saw me. And have a few photos of him chained to his truck. And I still have the NWIL ATHS chapter newsletter with Mack shown as the new mascot. Thanks for the memories. Trent

Need to vent rear quick to you fellow dog owners......My little bulldog Mack sadly grew his angel wings today. He was 13 years old and a best friend of mine. You may have seen him as some Northern IL truck shows when he was a pup. He liked to hide under Tommys ex Greco B81. He only rode in style be it in a long hood RS700 or 65' Cadillac. He was top dog in our family. Thanks for looking

Yes I forgot on the R600 the cross linkage connects to the block but i have also seen it mounted to the cab like on my RS700
