  1. seen a guy do that in Everett Wa. years ago he had clay stuck in the box and was jacking the throttle and running the jake to get the tail gate slapping, hitter a little too hard and blew the packing gland and pile drove the ram threw the cab. He had re cabbed the truck and was back on site in 3 days! he used a backhoe to clean the box after that.
  2. the only way to top this would be to get Red and Harold Green as company spokes persons! plus Reds contacts with the "Duct tape bunch" could prove invaluable once the overdrive kit is offered! God only knows how many rolls that could take! I will have to keep watching the S&P 500 for the HACME listing to show up once it does I will take payment in monopoly money!
  3. since I don't know hat you are doing fully I would suggest trying "Spicer drive train products" search and they do a good job of explaining drive shaft do"s and don'ts. hope this helps
  4. things out west don't get up graded as fast as in the sticks, hell we just got Wi-Fi 6 months ago!
  5. naw that belongs in the BABA section Big A$$ Bank Account . nothing like a half million bucks for a machine that "Thrashes" a crop!........ seems like for that price it would be nicer to the crop
  6. for just 5995.00 I will train the Ronco shifter monkey to skip shift "for those bob tail trips" and if you act today we will up grade this package to include full vaccinations for the monkey! Further more once the flybynight reverse kit is available, I will re train the shifter monkey to perform this task. so if you call yesterday you will qualify for this no charge up grade! just call little gorillas gear grinding school ...............br549.....and ask for harry
  7. Ok we need a BAM category " Big A$$ Machine " I would love to run that shovel for a day! being a driver on a super haul is on my bucket list too!
  8. naw a real red neck would have used the handle bars off the tiller and clamped to the other side of the smoker/ grill/ bbq. engine and trans optional!
  9. that's my type of shed! comes with spare dog parts.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. in 2002 I was rebuilding a highway between two Santa Fe main lines and was talking to the safety guy/ spotter ,and he told me about connecting the rails to trip the signals . It also brings down the x-ing bars and triggers the lights and bell. bout choked the crap outta that man the day he let the train get to close before he waved me off the tracks! Had to pay santa fe like 75.00 bucks and hour for him to be there, in a 10 hour day we would get like 7 trains . just enough to keep ya jumpy when there rolling at 50mph +
  11. I never fail to get educated on this site, I thought the tilt front started in 76 or 77. nice clean 13 letter b.s. spreader!
  12. have any of you heard of placing a bar or hooking jumper cables to each rail to "signal" the on coming train? I've been told that on lighted crossings this will work, and will change the track status and will cause a caution lite to illuminate.
  13. naw the swat team is to handle the survivors! gotta make sure the plan is bullet proof!
  14. a light heavy weight ? maybe its the wrong hood lol. Is that visor a aussie special? never seen one like that before.
  15. as said the eng brake will not work at low rpm with hot oil, if your not use to a electronic eng. the $#@%& computer gives the eng throttle when you let the clutch out,as the clutch takes ahold and the eng rpm falls below spec. rpm, the damn computer revs the eng. for you and can cause the problem. to shut the jake off there should be a rocker switch on the dash that will shut it off completely.
  16. if 100 degrees above outside air temp check it out, as suggested a laser temp gun is quick and easy, also check the temp from one side of the cooler to the other. is the trans cooler clean? is it in the air flow or blocked by a exhaust pipe? or other obstruction. you said you have a sm. leak is it in a hose? if so the inside could be collapsed and obstructing the oil flow.
  17. when you remove the balancer clean and then install a dial indicator on the front of the block then set the dial on the crank shaft check end play then rotate the eng 360 degrees and check for run out,if present crank is most likely bent.( install a board or such to hold the clutch pedal down, this will give a more accurate reading while rotating the eng. by holding the crank against the thrust brgs.) if this checks out reinstall the balancer and then check it for excessive run out both radial and lateral.
  18. I delivered hay to my vets. house on Sunday kinda tight had to pull into the horses round pin then back into the circular drive and miss the rockery on the blind side with a 10 yd. gravel pile next to it I think it was a 6 pull up deal to get the trailer to drift where I needed it. the truck and pull trailer is a little different than a 5th wheel operation and as long as I don't " think about it" I can do all right.
  19. I can occasionally come across these old girls as grain trucks and quite clean. give me a dollar number to work with and I will see what I can do! I will not boost the price, from one iron junkie to another I will do what I can.
  20. on a good day zero
  21. good in my part of the world, kinda far from you however!
  22. I think you got some great ideas to work with, I still question the dampener if this has been this way since the eng was installed who says it wasn't a faulty item! I too agree with Swishy get that thing in the air and run it in place then add or remove items drive shafts , clutch , intermediate shaft. see if it changes. what caused the loss of 6 injectors? is this a eup eng. do you have a cam failing?
  23. wrecking/salvage yard my be your best bet.
  24. yah you might look forward to catching Ebola VS. what could be had in the back of a smoke filled dry van
  25. yep have to quarantine the masses cuz voting at the polls would be unhealthy, and could spread the sickness! ( can see it now )just one of them things no one to blame.
