  1. congrats to you and your father, so do we place book order with you or amazon? will you autograph the book too?
  2. find a quiet nearly abandoned level road to practice on, then increase the training practice once you master flat lander stuff, as said before you must get the engine running proper before the rest will function as designed. enjoy the father and son time together and......... don't tell mom all the new words that you found in your vocabulary!
  3. this needs to be added to the wiki for the next poor bastard that has a clueless parts man. thanks rob
  4. damn what type of ground grows john deere's ? all my ground just grows rocks! maybe I need a green thumb?
  5. are you using the ac delco or the sanden compressor? most had the delco a-6 I think is the model. the CL series uses the sanden with the e-9 engine I haven't finished mine yet but plan on using a granite condenser in front of the charge air cooler and a sanden comp with the e-9 and chillin the cab of a R W
  6. you don't have 2 connecting rods for sale by chance do you? my crank will clean but I could use a couple of rods.
  7. yes I need to find the gov. liq. preview site so I can score some of this stuff for our fire dept. before it goes to public auction. any help would be great!
  8. Maybe Marvin the Martin could "sap" the tiller with his XP7Q space modulator ! As always thanks for the road trip, you save me a small fortune in fuel and airplane tickets!
  9. Don't count me out yet ! I have my eye on a Bell jet ranger III any one know any remote fueling depots ? there might be some FAA boys looking for me!
  10. the lift/supply pump supply's a positive pressure to the injection pump, as injection pumps are made to be positively pressured, they are not designed to suck. that is the lift pumps job. just like a fuel pump on a gas engine.
  11. I hope I can get this one back from the boys and over to the fire dept. I haven't found the preview site yet.
  12. we had 2 rd688s with 24x30 maxis 30x30 would hit the drums. any how one truck stopped fine the other stopped with the trailer, these were sister trucks 1 vin # apart . turned out that the application relay valve was bad. 38.00 dollars fixed it. to test do as said before install a 150 psi - 300 psi gauge into the application port of the brake can. apply 10-20-30-40-50-60 lbs. in increments to the brake pedal and then observe the gauge and make sure it pressure follows closely to what the foot pedal does.
  13. does it have the mesh fuel strainer? most people never service them . trace the fuel lines from tank to pump and make sure there isn't one!
  14. 10-4 on cleaning the fuel tank also check to see if it has a sediment trap. if that is a 3306 engine it sounds like the govener and or springs need help.
  15. ok looked under a different vin.# and low and behold 3 part numbers for the felts showed up and 2 part # for wipers finally got the right stuff coming, helps to have more info. The vin for my truck showed 1 part # for felts and 1 number for wipers.
  16. I was more impressed with the v.i.t. on a fright shaker never seen one before on a shaker.
  17. does this have the 3116 or 3126 engine? if so the fuel system is set up like a 2 stroke Detroit with a injector rack, I've had problems with a 936 loader doing this and it was wear in the linkage under the valve cover and the link between the rack and pump. Unlike a Detroit, a cat dealer has the special jig tool to set the injectors.
  18. nothing out west eats paccars.............. except a few stray dogs!....... must be some where east of the great divide
  19. I guess I will see what comes with freight tomorrow, parts man would make swift driver trainee. online parts break downs are far over rated ! why will any equipment manufacture give out cd's with parts but a truck builder guards them like fort knox? I am replacing the window wipers once the parts guy gets me the outer wipers instead of 4 interior wipers. that part is a no brainer except for the parts man. can you tell I'm happy about a 330 mile round trip drive to get the wrong parts!
  20. no injector adj. only Cummins and Detroit have inj. adj. during that era. Mack injectors are bench set.
  21. THE ROTTEN BASTARDS ANYHOW! sorry to hear that Paul.
  22. does 70qs39p5 sound right for the windows long side?
  23. I'm coming up with 2 and 1/2 strips per door. One strip does back and top of door, one strip does front of side window and gets cut in half. then I still need 1/2 a strip to do the rear lower guide. does this sound right?
  24. Naw I bet it cornered like it was on rails!
  25. 2 stack great job on the pics thanks for taking me to the show!
