  1. Yes corn related business will suffer, but other areas of ag. will accelerate fertilizer prices will fall due to lower crude prices helping to lower input costs, transportation costs should drop some, feedlot input costs will drop and all this should lower commodity costs, more corn will be available for consumption, lowering food costs yes overall prices should drop but so should our inputs. with much of my stuff my biggest expense if fuel related I think my margins will actually improve!
  2. mater otta be happy to have such a good home btw nice job with the bumper, looking good
  3. welcome to the dog house! happy hunting
  4. wasn't the 1674 the same as the 1693? the 1693 was the industrial version, and the 1674 the truck eng. I have only worked on the 1693's so I'm curios
  5. so what did you do to it ?
  6. hauled 4 loads today putting 4 full buckets from a 966c of 5/8 crushed....glad I didn't see law enforcement ! or the tire guy.........me. see I do have a truck with spokes
  7. I think there was also a 36 series but I have never personally seen one, I don't think the 33 series was ever in a Vee configuration. Farmer should be able to answer this for positive and then theirs that bigun don't remember the # but our asphalt plant and crusher each had one to run them . its a skid mounted genset and would fill one half of a 40' dry van, they were a low rpm eng.
  8. crack the injector line at what ever end is easiest to get to. you are looking for the one that causes the least amount of noticeable loss to the engine. as suggested a inferred heat gun will also work well. How long has it been since the valves have been adjusted? you could have a tight valve causing loss of compression or even a bad cam lobe not allowing a valve set to open, bent push rod etc. Are you making oil? or getting diluted oil? or does one exhaust port have a wet or dark color that doesn't match the others, if so this could be you problem cylinder.
  9. when trying to get a HEAVY Cozad or Arnies lowboy goose neck off the ground those long ramps are a MUST and on ice there still not gradual enough. I used to FLY out from under the goose neck in slick conditions at times it would take the lite cord and sever it, from one end or the other, and hyperextend the air hosed.....don't miss those days!
  10. making a little more progress! next few days are going to be a real bear forecasted wind chills around 0 to -5 temps from 18f to -3f...... I think we might spend more time around the wood stove in the old shop than building on the new one.
  11. my be so, but the Waukesha would have more torque at idle, than that 318 would have against the governor! and would use 1/20th. the oil!
  12. don't ya just love MURPHY'S LAW !
  13. perhaps the DUMB ASS is on the wrong END!............as for where it's headed..........I would say with that trajectory ....hummm? ! Washington D.C.!!
  14. an engine brake on a mack is like dragging a 10 lb. anchor behind a aircraft carrier!.......... for the money the exhaust brake will cost take the truck to a body shop and have a suicide door kit installed with electric windows, then when going down hill you can throw the doors open and then roll windows up or down to simulate one head or two. this is a exact replica of a jake or dynatard on a mack without the exhaust noise
  15. you know I never realized till now that Barack's initials B.H.O. stand for " BIG HUGE O'LE ASS" some days I'm real slow !
  16. and to think P.E.T.A. is hassling ranchers !!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't hung a ass in mid air............ that wasn't human
  17. Good one Paul : I think that belongs on a "you might be having a bad day if" you look in your mirrors and see your trailer taking a "nap"
  18. two things here 1st. the s.p. switch will only get you to 24v .2nd then you will have to jumper the starter solenoid to make the starter motor engage and crank. as for the s.p. sw. wiring a good auto parts store should be able to get you a diagram. or look on line! its been to long since I have played with one. but if I remember right one small term. is ground, one should have 12v. that should go to the dash. the other term. should shift the sw. to make 24v. it and the starter start term. I think go together
  19. rand McNally has never done that too me!
  20. KEN : you must "give" in order to "receive"
  21. I bought the gold dog paper weight at the mack gift store and then swapped it with the one on the hood. the paper weight was 60.00 the dog by himself I think was 80.00.......I just thought it was nuts so I went the way I did
  22. I would guess it has a "nospin" mechanical locker in the diff. do both sides of the rear spin when on slick surfaces or just one side? if both spin I would say it has a nospin.
  23. :clap:nice to see the old iron still working
  24. are those flip flop tan lines I see?.............who's got time to lay around and sun bathe............must be nice!
  25. nice...........the diamond T trucks I think look a lot like internationals or vise versa! that flat bed truck looks pretty clean and straight.
