  2. Dont trust Yardo! he's building a Jonny Cash fire truck, "he will get it one piece at a time and wont cost him a dime" Just kidding Randy!
  3. Yes keep driving! i've never heard banjo music at the T.K. so i doubt if the NIT's listen to it. However Steve Martin and the boys from deliverance do! and you must ask yourself would Steve Martin be in Hellertown?????....... just saying!
  4. Hey Paul, did you spill tequila on your key board? its speaking spanish i think, or at least something Jose would say!
  5. not only remain seated ..... but keep your mouth shut!!!!
  6. a dealer air schmatic should do the trick
  7. Jake, looks like a good time! i tried running a dragline with a linkbelt 98 speedster......good thing no one was under the bucket!
  8. diln911: as Hatcity said the blaster is probably doing its job. the way to find out if the throttle was causing the issue is to unpin the slave rod and then control the throttle lever by hand,if no problem it most likely was the air throttle. The air throttle should not be hard to disasemble and clean, most likely the steel piviot pin and the aluminum hsg. are having issues look for a roll pin that holds the steel pin in place, drive the roll pin out then the piviot pin clean lube and reassemble. Also check the slug that the peddal pushes on to make sure its free and clean. the terex scrapers i worked around had these throttles and this was part of my standard spring maintance to clean them up.
  9. does the comp.cycle on and off, or run nonstop if it runs non stop. you have either unloader issues or air leaks that need attention it could also be a failed check valve that allows the comp. to over work
  10. was this a alchol induced lack of judgement?
  11. gotta love a butcher job! sorry it was your truck.
  12. it makes me nervious to think how much this crap will cost to just run "seasonal" trucks on the farm of if ag will be exempt, and still get to use our air mile radious ?
  13. Ken i looked thru the manual, yes the bell is seperate but un like a fuller it isnt a easy swap. The shift fork for 4/5 gear is bolted to it! I dont know if you can easly un bolt the yoke to free the bell or if you have to un stack the trans. If you can remove it the good news is 5/10 gear is the first one you come to once the cover is off. Keiffer:if it was me i would call a few gear shops that deal with these trans, an see if the shift rail and front cover can be removed with the bell hsg. if so the repair could be rather easy and no reman needed, just a thought.
  14. would love to know the rest of the story, as Slpwklr saidnever seen that before
  15. nice macktivitys there Superdog, that L looks pretty good, still wish i could find one around here in good rebuildable shape. that MH just needs a little cloth and resin
  16. i didnt even know spicer was still building truck trans. all i ever see any more are eaton fullers
  17. get a jacobs foot pedal sw. and install it to the right side of the throttle pedal, then remove the switch at the injection pump and then wire those wires to the foot sw.You can leave the dash sw on and them the dynatard will only work when you step on the peddal, and since you have to use your right foot you will have your foot off the throttle.....works great!
  18. when i was a child-early teen my way to kill time was to count trucks my manufacturer, when on a road trip i would have pen and paper and would make catagorys mack.kw,pete, fl,ect. then mom dad and i would make our best guess when a truck came into view then confirm when we passed, never seemed to get old, i still find myself doing it today as i am driving along.
  19. hell i just post and stuff under the wifeys face book page I get some real good laughs out of that! from timeto time!!!!!
  20. if that spicer is like a 1010 spicer the reason you are popping oit of gear is the washer that supports the gear is bent, a country neighbors stiger tractor woud pop out of 3 and 8 so we pulled the trans and found the supporting washer concave, which allows the clutching gear to not fully engage so when under a hard pull it would pop out. i think it took about 6 hours and 1100 bucks to fix
  21. i wish i could teach my self the one year rule, i have stuff thats been around for 10 years but i still have a plan for it........when i get too that project that i am saving it for
  22. the last time i saw one of those it was on a dirt pile in the back yard along with my tonkas and erthals i literaly wore it out had to replace the riviots with machine screws! had never seen a 4x4 model 7500, thanks for the memorys
  23. Ol'e Mater gonna need a name change here soon!......... his name used to fit, not so much now! great progress and is looking great!!!!
  24. i had the same issue when i repowered mine the newer turbo was smaller, i took the eng. out of a CL700 so if you could find a wrecked one that would work. Or find a wrecked e7 with the correct size pipe and then have a machine shop fab. the two pipes together. i dont know if mack parts carrys the cl 700 pipe still.
  25. when i worked for case the 580k phase III had just been released, they used poly bushings that were fitted too snugly and the controls would stick i think we reworked 150 machines untill we caught up to the factory resized ones.I dont ever remember a series needing so much rework the swing cylinders got swaped the brakes, trans, diffarental and ring gears all had to be redone, oh and the frames had to be rewelded..........guess what model i own...... yep a 580K ph.III i know them WELL. LOL!!!!!!
