  1. will have to see what mother nature has planned for me, should be the start of first cutting of hay............some times I hate farming!!!!
  2. nice score! what's the dates on the Salem show?.........sounds a little closer then mudcungie!!!
  3. or you could bypass the fuel pump and clutch switch and install a "Jacobs" floor mount foot switch, I personally like this set up as it will only work when you step on it, I have mounted them to right of the throttle....... I don't know if Aussie pedals are backwards if so, mount to the left of the GO pedal.
  4. I need one of them with attachments! then after 20 minuets, I would have all my farming done and could work on old Macks and drink beer!
  5. UNLESS THE WEATHER CHANGES AND REVERTS BACK TO WINTER I WILL NOT BE THERE, ...........TOO BAD TO....... I WAS LOOKING FOWARD TO EATING SOME DEAD FARM ANIMALS WITH YOU GUYS!
  6. did just old trucks merge with bmt? same format and I never could figure out how to use their site!
  7. sounds a touch low for being "fueled up" I was thinking around 24 for normal, but it has been a while since I pulled any thing with a 350.
  8. does this truck have a KYSOR system installed on it ? if so there might be a issue with it or it could be part of the issue. the kysor system typically consists of a fuel shut off solenoid, and oil pressure sw. and a temp sw. most have an override button you depress while cranking the engine to bypass the low oil pressure sw.
  9. you can get nut inserts at most body shops and not have to pull the head liner. I had several bad ones when I repainted my rw, went to the local body shop and it took 5 mins to replace the old ones.
  10. can you put air to the fuel tank when the truck is cold? I often put a regulated air supply (5-8)psi. to trouble shoot these issues. if any thing starts to (sweat) fuel, it can also let in air! being a temp sensitive issue I would suspect a crack in a fitting or hard O-rings or seals in the fuel system, also your fuel lines are now over 20 years old you could have a brittle or failing inner hose liner allowing air into the system. You can also make a test hose from clear tubing and install between the fuel filter and the suction side of the hand priming pump. then run the truck and watch for air bubbles traveling through the tube, then shut down and see if you see a back flow in the hose. also have you checked the tank vents? if they are plugged you may have a vacuum causing you problems.
  11. Hopefully "Vito" falls into the box as well, I'm a little short handed right now. Much like Randy I too have my nose stuck into a book taking my EMT training, so between running things on the ranch feeding cows, prepping taxes, playing midwife to the cows and calves, and trying to keep caught up on my orchard stuff, I'm not getting much wrenching done on the equipment or carpenter work performed in the shop.
  12. thanks Randy, I got the suction valve issue handled, I did some nickel rod welding and all came out great works like a new one .
  13. Does any one have a good transfer valve assembly for a waterous 1250 gpm pump? Im trying to put a 76 cf600 back to work as a engine in our rural fire dept. but think i will endup distorying the stuck one i have by the time i get it out of the truck I'm working on a model cmbx-1250. new parts from waterous are worth more than the truck. any help would be great.
  14. the ones we had fail were on 350's and yes I think it was the followers that caused the cam failures (mack warranty issue) so I didn't do them my self.
  15. I dont think i would want to piss off the guy who can throw wrappers around that load!........ I would much rather buy him a beer!
  16. well on the UNIQUE scale I would give it a 10............on the SEXY scale I think 2.5 tops!
  17. F@%k ..........I don't know which one is worse? I saw one the other day along the same lines , they were saying Hillary was in favor of Sharia Law and were asking the same young bunch of idiots if they agreed ......and they did!............M&%$@r flipping IDIOTS!!!!!!!
  18. sounds like left coast specs where we have to work with the bridge laws, we had several rd688s that were specked that way, the only thing that would happen is they would snap an axle shaft if the guys wheel hopped them in the sand, other wise no issues except for the failing cam shafts we lost 3 in less than 130,000 miles all in sister trucks.
  19. looks just fine to me!.............wait a second ...........is that Detroit diesel green on the engine!..........ok I might have to rethink this ! LOL
  20. the driver must be 4 foot something tall in order to see under it! I know I feel like Dino (from the Flintstones) just trying to dive mine with a factory fiberglass one.
  21. A bendix rebuilder is in portland ore. cant remember their name but , i know they will rebuild your compressor, you might try contacting Bendix and then get their info.
  22. ooooops stupid me i get it now .............."Parking spots" all detroits make them!
  23. the Hahn don't make its own parking spot...........it just turns gravel areas into oil shot pavement for its parking areas!
  24. our food safety program falls apart in shipment in my opinion, how much stuff can be cross contaminated in transit and shipping. just think about a 53 foot trailer with all sorts of stuff in it headed for the local grocery store for a daily delivery, how many produce boxes have hand holes in them for ease of handling, how many trailers are disinfected between hauls? So now we mix food and dry goods in a trailer and then fire up the refer and blow things around for a few hours, how many air born spores just traveled around during this? Now some flunky handles all this stuff while un packing pallets, then the next goes and stocks the spuds then the banana's, then the Lettice, maybe some asparagus and then some apples. Only then does a construction worker who just finished a sewer tie in decides to go to the store and grab some fruits and vegies for dinner, but has to handle several of each item before finding the perfect ones.............cant figure out why we have a food safety issue........can you. I know how much crap I go thru to get my stuff to the processing plant, only to be held responsible for everyone who touches it from the tree to the dinner plate.
  25. Ben, what are you doing with the pump? I need a few waterious pump parts like the strainers in the suction ports and the wheel operated butterfly valve for the front suction. I'm repairing a cf600 for our VFD please pm me and let me know if these items are available.
