  1. And I remember when we had to back off and retorque mack head bolts but with improved gaskes and the fire ring no need to do that anymore.
  2. I would never tow a stuck engine in gear because that is the best way to bend rods I know of.Like been stated jack one wheel up and put in hi gear.If its a air shift ,shift to hi range. Then rock back and forth after soaking the cylinder with what ever. That is all the pressure you need to put on it.If that is a 673 there is a small hole in the bottom of the flywheel housing that you can put a screw driver on the ring gear teeth and get a lot of pressure on the flywheel also.
  3. I have worked on the ISL and its a horse for its size. Non of the ones we serviced was near that HP cause they were in town trucks. Jake brake makes brake for them but small as the engine is I would think it would not be too much to consider.
  4. I have worked on both of them back in the mid sixtys. The 465 was used in a lot of cement trucks around here with the baby quad
  5. That would be the scanie engine. The 465 was the little mack engine.
  6. I removed the message after I reread it some more.
  7. Mystick 15W50 will stay in longer than any thing else.
  8. Very safe cause it ant going to get off ground. But you have to give some credit for trying.
  9. Yes they came with turbo engines . Rob Swallows has one he has in a build project.
  10. read the codes if any
  11. The 864 and 865 used wet liners.I have been in them when they were around.
  12. On a eaton trans when it grows as your saying between ranges its asking you to repair or I am going to make you pay. Some times what happens is one of the pins break off and fall down and go thru two gears breaking the case.Right now I will more likely need a syncro kit and sliding clutch plus the aux drive gear on the main box plus grease and gaskets and seal. But some times it don't break any gears so its your call.
  13. Good advice,So many guys will do their own work and call around to get torque specs and with out a manual you miss some info you may not know.
  14. Use that koil and let it set about 3 days and go back out and look. Don't be surprised that they came off by their self.
  15. The large full flow can be mounted remote on the frame behind the cab very easy with hoses. That was common years back.
  16. I was told years back that they could not get the inline American bosch fast enough but found enough of these.
  17. Sounds like a good time to get some one in there with a reader. You cant do much with out it.
  18. I have fuel at both of them.I always stayed there nigh before going into NYC.
  19. You didn't drop a rag in the pan when you had the screen down did you?
  20. Dog is smarter than you guys
  21. Be carefull with pressure on a tank that is not designed for pressure.
  22. yes
  23. It may have been a inspectors car. That's the way they are around here in city. You ask them to move so you can get in to dump and they go around the block and park in some elses way. White pickups I don't like. What burns me is some times you will deliver 5 loads and they have not moved their head one time and makes me want and ask if their are dead or just sleeping.
  24. I think you can go to jake brake .com and look at the install manual for that model and get what you need.
  25. When I have sand freze in the box and its not that cold here but I raise it and let the sun shin on the underside and it comes out quicker. On my box all I have had to freze is up front around the dog hose and on the floor. And that can happen in half hr.
