  1. That shack would go for about 250k on 3/4 acre around here. I like the NY area pics but I thought the Whitestone was the Throgs Neck. Shame on me.
  2. Holy Crap! I like the '54 but thank heavens you were there to save the '83. What the hell were they thinking?! Makes ya wonder how many dry cleaners have had to get chicken-shit stains out of not one but THREE prom dresses at the same time.
  3. Glad they had nice weather and a good turnout.
  4. Yowza! That's well into the triple digits, like 130+ mph.
  5. Oooh yeah.........
  6. I was raised to be "pretty Catholic" but now consider myself to be "vaguely Catholic". So vague that I attend a Lutheran church.
  7. The pic of the Lima truck looks like one of Al's Axle Equipment postcards.
  8. Volvo will keep the Camelback but change the name to V-ride or Mooseback.
  9. Good to see another R model getting the care it deserves. Be sure to keep an extra throttle spring or 2 in the cab. They tend to call it quits when you least expect it.
  10. Got any cold weather shots of Pilot Mountain?
  11. Ok, Trinity would make sense. It's hard to see from the highway.
  12. I'd never get tired of that view from the front door.
  13. Absolutely not, but kudos to your dispatcher for having you pre-planned so far in advance.
  14. I'd like to drive one and see how they compare to the earlier versions. Those were a real turn-off.
  15. Nice pics. BTW, the latest edition of "Truck Stop Parking Rules for New Steering Wheel Holders" clearly states that only one tire per set of duals is required to be in the same parking spot as the opposite set so..uh...he's still in violation. Never mind.
  16. It's prolly best to just let it die, move on, and never mention it again. Cool pics, Tim. Looks like Max has already found a keeper!
  17. Excellent pics from the past, thanks for sharing. I've heard of the USS Recruit before now. Van Sise Farms looks exactly how I remember it. The last time I went past there was probably in the 80's. I found what I think was it on Google Earth from 1994 but later photos show it was replaced by a small strip mall.
  18. You probably tried this already, but Google images will pull up a few Werner Continental and Hall's trucks. Did your Dad work out of West Middlesex? That was a WC turned Hall's terminal. Pitt Ohio (my employer) occupied the building for several years until 2009 when they moved into the former Conway terminal in Hermitage. I think there is a construction or equipment company in there now.
  19. Were you off on Thursday and Friday? No sign of cicadas around here. We had them pretty bad in '98 or '99 so it hasn't been 17 years yet. Must be global warming. I like the shot of the round, firm Peaks of Otter with the puffy...uh...clouds.
  20. What happened on I-79 is that the truck fell on it's side. The black round things go on the bottom. Driver was prolly checking his gps for the nearest 11'6" clearance he could drive under instead of watching the road. That was me that passed you. I'm still looking for the Ohio Turnpike but got tired of dragging the 53'er around, so I got the dingy out to go ingestvigating.
  21. oldspwr runs that site.
  22. I'm running a bit behind..Happy Birthday!
  23. Great photos, thanks for posting! And here I thought I'd never be interested in anything at a Yankee Candle store.
  24. I haven't been on all week, didn't notice you were gone. Good to have ya back, though!
