  1. It's only natural for you to be concerned about your family in this situation but remember, they want to be there for you in through good and bad. I hear where you are coming from, It would be great to be able to get through this and not have to say anything to them until it's all behind you. Since that isn't an option, I'd say you should just do what you need to do for yourself and don't hesitate to seek out support whenever you need it and wherever you can find it, be it from your family at home or your family on BMT. I've never been through anything like this, I'm just passing along how I think I would handle it if it were me. As always, you and your family will be in our prayers.
  2. Worth every second of it.
  3. Nice pics gentlemen, thanks for sharing. I wonder if he did that to be different or just doesn't know any better. Either way the dogs should face one another. There are certain things you just don't mess with.
  4. Thanks. The name didn't ring a bell so I went on their web site and saw the DMC "house" logo. That's them for sure. The axle forward CH's were much less common, especially as single axles, which is what made me think it was once part of the DMC fleet.
  5. Very nice. Will you leave it original, restore it, or part it out?
  6. For some at least it's because they come from a family of truckers and can't imagine themselves doing anything else. There are still plenty good driving jobs available for those who want to give 100% and make a long term career out of driving.
  7. The last video won't upload. we will never learn how the saga ended. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/15600-driver-ed/?hl=school#entry67439
  8. Thanks. I didn't think my theory was a good one.
  9. Welcome Doc! I'm halfway there! I drive a Volvo! I am sooooooo not worthy........
  10. Wow. It seems to be in great, original condition.
  11. I was shocked to see they actually have a skyline of their own the last time I was in the city. Much of my construction career in the 80's was spent in Battery Park or the WTC. The only notable structure across the river back then was the Colgate clock. It looks like a small city now. Thanks for the recipe! It probably won't even combust when I shake it....
  12. Someone on here made a few driving school cartoons that were well beyond hilarious. Anyone know who or where to find them?
  13. Sorry it had to come to this but the kid is a born loser and I have serious doubts that he will ever amount to anything more than that.
  14. Wait a minute- are you saying that this isn't bds.com? I guess that would explain why all the truck pictures.
  15. Unfortunately, they're non-transferable. Thanks anyway! When I first saw that pic, I thought you were.......nevermind. The point is that I'm a dumbass.
  16. The camera is pointed to high to be certain, but I think the guy in the blue shirt is churning butter with his right hand.
  17. Coming from someone else I would agree, but I think kscarbel is just posting these for informational purposes and to spark a discussion.
  18. Certainly not the best looking trucks, but i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder one paying for the fuel.
  19. Reduced costs and weight savings are always a good thing, but I think I would rather sacrifice those benefits and go with a twin screw with a power divider. I've been in too many situations where a simple flick of a switch made the difference between getiing there or waiting for help.
  20. Tomorrow morning, you will be putting your wood back in your pants and a young, irresponsible driver will skid out of control into your truck. Stay near the trailer and there will be some cosmetic damage but thankfully, no injuries. I'm not 100% sure about what your doing with the wood as my crystal balls are kinda small and fortunately, difficult to read.
  21. I've driven one UltraShift which was apparently an early model. It was horrible in any type of slow manuever situation and I couldn't believe they actually marketed a transmission where it was necessary to accelerate when the driver should be moving on idle and covering the brake. I've driven an Mdrive only 3 times and the one issue I have is with any type of liquid cargo. With 4-300 gallon totes in a van trailer It wasn't able to shift with the surge and would make extra up and down shifts. Must be heck with a smooth bore tanker.
  22. Welcome! Yeah! That pic sux! (That kind of ribbing. It has nothing to do with how long you've been a member. Don't take it personally, especially from a guy that spells sucks with an x.) Welcome!
  23. We know the rust was an aftermarket installation, but did any R-700's come from the factory with a 903?
  24. I love the classic look of the CH. There was (or still is) a company from maybe the Lancaster area that had CH's in that spec. I can't remember the name but they delivered building materials and I saw them a few times while delivering to Lezzer LLumber in LLLancaster.
