  1. Let me get this straight. You would get out of your vehicle while stuck in traffic on an interstate and approach another vehicle...with crap in your pants. It's prolly best that you were born after the production of U models ceased.
  2. We had to drop Moorefield when the trucks were bumped down to 65 mph. BTW, with your routing skills, you should consider a job as an ltl p&d dispatcher. BTW BTW, Friday night's run was Washington (PA) to Pittsburgh to Washington to Harrisburg to Cumberland (MD) to Washington.
  3. Nice post card! I would've swore that the 76 was now a Petro but it is in fact a Pilot. Maybe the green Perkins Restaurant sign threw me off. If Post House was on that same property then I haven't been there. I only remember it as a 76. I just found it on Bing maps. It appears to be closed, but I 've definitley eaten there. The Driveway going in is actually a public road-Post House Rd in fact. The TA is where the 4 lane connector from the toll booths ends at Rt 30. If you take that ramp too fast, you'll drop about 20 feet and land and find yourself in line at the fuel pumps.
  4. Google street view shows that the county has turned it into a fancy schmancy office building. Sorry 'bout getting off topic guys.
  5. Thanks again for posting those brochures. The 4 door pickup looks like it could be a Ford product. I knew it reminded me of a VW from the past.
  6. That's a neat old pic, Mark! I know I've been to the Post House because my Dad would never pass through Breezewood without stopping, but I can't place it. Was it on the same side of 30 as the TA? The only place I have a vivd memory of is the The former Union 76, which is now a Petro. The little lot they have where you first come in used to be the only parking they had.
  7. I looked at a '69 Fury I that had a 318 and 3 on the tree when I was a teenager but someone beat me to it to use as a family car. I wanted to replace the "wheel covers" with baby moons and put a Hush Thrush on it. That was a helluva time back then when cars were fun to play with even if one had limited skills and minimal cash.
  8. Nice truck. That in cab ether injection system would've saved me from a few exhaust soot rain showers when I was younger and my Dad drove cabovers.
  9. They were doing the warehousing and distribution for King Kullen after they closed the warehouse on Prospect Ave in Westbury.
  10. IH used that cab for several years on everything from pickups to class 8 tractors. I've always preferred the look of the 2 headlight configuration on the older models.
  11. Happy Birthday! I had noclue you were that young. I prolly thought you were older 'cause you hang out with old people.
  12. Areva has a pretty big warehouse or two about 2 miles from me. I went past the car and truck on poles at around 3 am today. I-81 near Chambersburg, PA. Nothing goes better with a mat full o' Cheez Its than a nice cold ashtray of your favorite beverage.
  13. Yeah, in 5% steps. In 45th direct he'll barrelling along at 7 mph.
  14. Happy Birthday! I have a tin foil hat like yours. I never take it off.
  15. I've only heard the term "Cool Power" used when referring to the 320 HP Aussie version. Was that also used in the states?
  16. The sad part is that it's not an episode of Jackass.
  17. The guy in the bottom ad looks like Fred Mertz. Handsome devil.
  18. And WOW again later that day when the same truck passed you heading the other way on it's second Denver-Hunts Point trip of the week. I read an article recently and the subject was a Monfort W900 with a 425 Cat and an Allison. That particular team deadheaded from NYC to Chicago for a load west but often times they would run empty all the way home to grab that second eastbound load. The article might be in one of those Overdrive scans. I'll look for it this weekend if I get a chance. I'd do it now but the sun is coming up and me lids are gettin' heavy.
  19. I didn't know the tip turbines were still in use in '88.
  20. These all appear to have the filler panels around the headlights. Did Mack eventually redesign the sheet metal to eliminate the need for the fillers?
  21. Great info. Thanks for posting all that.
  22. I think it would be redundant to have both antennas but then again, It doesn't matter as long as you like the way it looks.
