  1. I guess it will have to do, if that's all you got.
  2. I assume you gentlemen will put your free time to good use and review the lessons from your most recent days at school?
  3. That's the spec of the newest Pinnacles where I work. We have one at my terminal and although it is not my daily driver, I was sent to pick it up at the company HQ and stayed in it for the rest of the night. The heaviest load I pulled was 26,000 lb in a 48 ft dry box. And it was able to pull the hills on the PA Turnpike between New Stanton and Carlisle without ever having to drop out of 12th gear and RPM's never went below 1250. Most of our MP7-395's have 10 speed Fullers behind them which pull the same. The company is likely going to stick with the Mdrives based on their initial experience with them and, according to my Safety Manager, they have a 750,00 mile warranty. Many of the current MP7 drivers had driven Sterlings with Mercedes MB4000's rated at 450 hp prior to being assigned new Pinnacles and say the Mack's pull much better on hills.
  4. Any pics of the Bat cave?
  5. I like how it ends with "recalculating!" You took the proper steps and just had a case of bad luck. There are some that couldn't get from point A to point B without getting into trouble even if both shipper and receiver were located adjacent to an interstate.
  6. With all that info in the article, you were still able to provide an update on the driver. Damn you're good!
  7. That's what I do with dip or salza. Dump the crumbs into the jar and stir.
  8. Great looking trucks. I've slept on floors in a few daycabs when I rode with my Dad. I was awfully young then.
  9. There's a Chicago R model featured as dump truck of the month in this April 1983 issue of Overdrive on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OVERDRIVE-MAGAZINE-APRIL-1983-/111006844775?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d8860767
  10. That's a nice, subtle improvement that looks good both day and night.
  11. I'm sympathetic to a driver that makes a wrong turn and accidently ends up someplace they shouldn't be, Lord knows I've done it a few times, but some of these asshats are trying to relocate 11 ft bridges by cramming a 13'6" trailer under them at 30 mph. And that's after blowing past all the warning signs and flashing lights in broad daylight! I seriously believe there are some clowns out there that would drive off a bridge if a gps told them to.
  12. I just noticed that. Has it been that long? And those rails are the envy of fellow rails everywhere.
  13. I can't help you with you're question but someone will be on here in no time with your answer. I'm a lurker on the Brockway site, nice collection you have. Best of luck with the B-81.
  14. I've been checking out the L.I.E. cams throughout the day. wet in some spots and littered with vehicles in others. It gets worse the further east you go, You didn't see those small letters above the grill? I knew it wasn't his 'cause I can see the surreal number. It looks like his fire extinguisher needs a recharge, too.
  15. Any truck driver who hasn't been living under a rock for the past few years has had, at least once, either heard a story of a gps nightmare or experienced one first hand. These incidents make the news somewhere on a daily basis but every day another so called professional gets him/herself into a bad situation simply because they don't want to invest in the proper gps program and are just too damn lazy to use a Motor Carrier Atlas or a cell phone. Somehow, relying on blind faith and risking several thousand dollars in equipment, freight and/or property damage is the logical choice for many.
  16. Based on some stories I've heard from my cousin, she may have been in a similar situation had she been scheduled to work.
  17. Good to see you mobile already. My cousin lives off Canal Rd in Coram and says she has about 30" at her place too. She's a nurse at St Charles and is on a 3-12 schedule, so the tiiming of this storm has given her the luxury of just staying home until things get back to normal. The trick to "weathering" a storm like this is to remain calm and be prepared, like this guy: http://www.longislandpress.com/2013/02/08/gotta-get-the-bread-and-milk/
  18. I sometimes go weeks without watching tv. My wife sets the dvr for Modern Family (funny show) and Boardwalk Empire (awesome show), and we'll sit down when we have a few hours and watch it like a marathon. Aside form that and certain sports games, I use the computer as my source of news, entertainment, and maybe some porn.
  19. I hope the driver got out and pushed some of that snow over to the passenger side 'cause...well.....you know why. It's the RIGHT thing to do.
  20. Say what you want about PACCAR, that truck is a chick magnet. Notice how they all turn their heads and look as you drive past. I need to scroll slower when viewing your POTW. there was way too much excitement in part 1. The gripping desriptions alone had me on the edge of my seat before I even saw the pics. And then there was all those bulk tankers. I didn't realise this until today, but bulk tankers get me all hot and bothered, which brings me to my next point. The intemission was timed perfectly. I think fence-fixer girl was working towards the camera. The sections in the background appear to have been exposed to excessive heat while the section she is working on still looks new. Good to see a reminder of simpler times with the S&H Green Stamps. My Uncle gave them away at his Texaco station, like thousands of other business owners at the time. I think you have enough there to get an FM converter for your car radio. This will allow you to hear FM stations in mono through your existing AM radio! What'll they think of next?!
  21. Welcome Shaun! Good to have you aboard.
  22. Have you considered mounting them in the doors? I don't know how much space is in there but if you could place them somewhere under the vent windows they would be far enough from the rear speakers and you'd get a better stereo effect than you would having them close together in the headliner.
  23. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Be careful.
  24. One of the pictures shows a man running away from it. That should tell you something.
  25. When i was looking for the answer, I found info stating that those tubless tires have an aspect ratio of 88 vs. the 98-100 on the tube tires, which would explain the lower height.
