  1. I'm not sure how much more of this my heart can take. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_magazines/truck-and-trucking-/1979-overdrive-maga/ http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_magazines/truck-and-trucking-/1980-overdrive-magazine/
  2. Found this on the Internet. Source: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_magazines/truck-and-trucking-/1980-overdrive-magazine/02-overdrive-magazi/february-1980-dump.html
  3. You have sinned. For your penance, say 10 Hail Mary's and read from the following scripture: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/30184-all-eyes-are-on-the-new-maxidyne/ I can understand your feeling left behind running a 237 in the 80's, but a that engine should be compared to a 250 Cummins or a 238 Detroit. Then lets see who's first to reach the top.
  4. Is that the place in Braddock, maybe Swissvale? I've been past there on the way to Babcock Lumber but have never had the pleasure. I looked around the surrounding neighborhood and thought this better be a good sandwich 'cause it may be the last one I ever eat.
  5. It's happening again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait....new reply....never mind.
  6. Just chalk that up as a situation you may experience in the "real world", it's just part of your training. You can skip gears in low range when light and on flat ground of going downhill. The quicker you get to top gear the more fuel you save, provided you are not lugging the engine.
  7. Yes, they've actually been available since the early days of GPS, but I have no first hand experience using one.
  8. Good Luck! Shifting will come to you. Eventually you'll be able to judge shifts by sound without having to glance at the tach for each change. Hopefully your school is also teaching trip planning. Learn to use maps and a cell phone. Drivers today are finding themselves in bad situations more and more these days because they are relying solely on a GPS that does not take the size and weight of the truck into consideration. Also, they don't have the math skills to know that a 13'6" truck will not fit under a 11'2" overpass, I kid you not it happens on a daily basis. Buy a Motor Carrier atlas. It will list height and weight restrictions and even show weigh stations. Always know your route before the start of your trip.
  9. Happy Birthday! Yinz goin' dahn Souside fer some pierogies?
  10. I'll have to call on Vinny to help me express my feelings. He good with words.
  11. That is an awesome photo. It's a shame it can't be frozen in time as is without further deterioration of the ferry.
  12. Great shots, that second College Point pic is beautiful! Most people have no idea how many small, isolated areas there are within the 5 boroughs that remain unspoiled by developers.
  13. That's a Ruan bumper on the IH, fer sure. I was never a huge fan of that particular model but that one looks great in red with black spokes, as does the Hendrickson.
  14. Oh.....it's working just fine.......yep.......
  15. They have wedgies, It's actually an ad for a local Florida business- Sebring Self Service Coin Operated Laundromat.
  16. The green and yellow was Builders Transport. Schneider National bought them out, maybe in the late 90's? For a while there were quite a few green and yellow tractors pulling orange trailers. It looked like a pack of Fruit Stripe gum going down the road.
  17. Good to hear Olivetroad is doing well. He's a true gentlemen and always showed his good side on BMT. Click to enlarge.
  18. For GM and Chrysler.
  19. On the south side of Prospect, bordering the LIRR and Wantagh Parkway?
  20. Hand sanitzer? Bah! When I was his age I would just........on second thought, that's a good idea.
  21. 562 miles, just over 10.5 hours drive time. The 66 mile Pittsburgh turn eats almost 2 hours of drive time because of the location and the time of day, there was also an accident on I-376 coming back. I was driving a Pinnacle. Had I been in my Volvo someone would've had to come fetch me wherever the clock ran out.
  22. Happy Birthday!
  23. Nice video. I wonder if any of those 4 wheelers following him down the hill realize how lucky they are to hear the sound of the jake through the straight stacks up close and personal.
  24. And his vote counts the same as mine. That pony emerging from between the body panels is a bit unsettling.
