  1. Is that a '54 (+ -) Ford? My Mom had one like that but it was beige.
  2. We have them mounted on our windshield, they look like a computer mouse from the back. They're activated by certain actions such as sudden braking but can also be activated manually by the driver.
  3. Ahh...you chose your subjects wisely.
  4. Looks great! I'll vote for the grey rims also and since you want to dress up the wheels with lug nut covers, chrome rear hub caps would also be something to consider.
  5. Looks like you covered a lot of ground this week. I'd have been a bit hot under the collar about the truck getting dirty so quick, but I let those things get to me more than they should. Did you Photoshop the IU pics? I see 11 college students and not a single one is texting! The goats would think they'd died and gone to heaven if they were ever exposed to flat ground.
  6. Beautiful truck. Aftermarket wind deflectors were common on Canadian trucks years ago. I've seen several Kenworth and Freightliner cabovers with them. The earlier Ford W9000's had them from the factory.
  7. And if you survive that, then try climbing into a cabover with a setback front axle and the steps in front of the front axle. It's like trying to climb into the passenger side of a "normal" cabover except the door hinge is on the wrong jamb.
  8. Welcome! The truck looks great.
  9. I think you can rest assured it will continue to get the TLC it's accustomed to. It's currently parked at his house but he is looking to rent garage space.
  10. It looks a bit like an ex-MS Carriers truck, but I doubt it is.
  11. if you are referring to the 315hp 300+ that engine was not a Maxidyne and needed at least a 9 speed behind it. If the above truck came with a 5 speed then it has the Maxidyne 300 with a different torque curve.
  12. So... My buddy at work says to me last night 'you'll never guess what I did this weekend" and he was right. He's from Weirton and the guy down the street from him just brought home a '93 MH with a V8! He drove past it a few times and finally went down to check it out. The new owner let him inside and he even got to start the engine. A few taps of the throttle and the skies of Weirton were quickliy overcast, just like the good old days when the mills were going strong. He was very impressed with the condition of the truck and the owner's obvious appreciation for his new found gem. He said he plans on showing it and confirmed that no, it will not be hauling coal!
  13. "This beauty sports all the chrome Mack offers".
  14. That'll work. I see the first one has a tan dashboard so the stock bumper could also have been the deeper one with rounded edges that came out in '73 (I think).
  15. As Paul said, it is what it is. You have to give the folks paying the bills what they want if you want to sell trucks. I don't care much for the big piece of stainless on the bumper, It looks like it has braces. I hereby christen this truck "Fender Face". .
  16. Hope it turns out to be a headache for that asshole.
  17. I'm an hour south but the day is shot between takin' care of business in the morning and takin' a nap in the afternoon. My typical Monday schedule as I switch back to bat time.
  18. Wow! Very nice find. Found this on Flickr but no info. http://www.flickriver.com/groups/old_fire_trucks/pool/interesting/
  19. I think a stock bumper would look best, just an opinion of course.
  20. Welcome. Lots of great info here. Here's another excellent resource if you haven't yet visited this site: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/
  21. Very nice. Don't think I've seen any of them before.
  22. That hi-tech stuff in Fairmont is located on NASA Blvd. I'm sure there's a clue in there somewhere.
  23. Isn't that the same truck? The pic that I posted from their website shows the stainless visor.
  24. Thanks for the lead. Hard to tell from the pic but possibly a pre-73 cab and even older hood?
  25. Eventually, I would imagine. My Aunt Julie kept mothballs in all her closets so the smell actually triggers some happy childhood memories for me.
