  1. The so-called downsides seem like relatively easy fixes. I thought the cruise-control issue would be a adjustment in tghe settings. I've driven several similar trucks at work and on some I could temporarily disable the cruise with a quick tap of the clutch while that did not work on others.
  2. I take it you came out of the ordeal unscathed? They don't appear to be hard-asses like some of the Keystone Cops I've dealt with. Then again, I've had some good ones too.
  3. The Trend and the blue one have been to the ATHS show in New Stanton, PA. This shot from '07 shows the blue one was once green. It was blue when I caught it again in '10.
  4. Nice pics and congratulations to Ron for the award.
  5. G models were ahead of their time, style wise. If it had recessed door handles and a square grill it would blend right in with cabovers of the 80's and 90's. I'm not suggesting that be done, of course. Looks like a nice variety of vehicles. I like the stock Ford pickup and what I think is a '69 El Camino.
  6. Nice. There's at least one more from that era in the TOTM section from another issue. It was a b&w photo but it had a very nice paint scheme and the description said it was burgundy and white. I'll try to find it if I have time later.
  7. Ouch. I wonder how much fuel they're saving with the super-singles.
  8. Not in my house it don't.
  9. I've only used that gear on a 9 speed. The ratio was close to 5th and came in handy because it eliminated the need to drop into low and go "right and down", epsecially when turning. I'm just lazy, I reckon.
  10. Beautiful! Good Luck with it.
  11. Yes, yes, and yes. Thanks for posting the ads.
  12. I was thinking the same thing. When I lived in Manhattan I looked at apartments that weren't nearly as spacious or well laid out.
  13. Shoulda left the Navigator at my house and piled into my Ford Focus for the ride up. They might have written you a check if they saw that.
  14. It's named in honor of the guy that came up with the idea. Muskrat Slide ain't so bad but "Muskrat Love", now that really sucked!
  15. I guess if they could have a BCR, why not an HCF?
  16. I bring my recycling to the landfill on most Mondays. They're set up there at least once every 2 months or so.
  17. Thanks for posting the pictures, Rich. There are a few I've never seen before, but my favorite is still the maroon/silver 459.
  18. The Ford has the "Custom Cab". I know that chrome trim around the windshield is part of the package, I think a white steering wheel is also. There once was a saying: "anyone can do it with the right tools", but I busted that myth years ago.
  19. Looks like a great turnout despite the weather forecast. Thanks for the pics.
  20. As a rule, the drivers usually lose in pay and/or benefits when a private fleet decides to outsource. I'd like to see a comparison of the before and after packages.
  21. Found this on another site, and that poster found it on the ATHS site.
  22. Here's a street view of Colliers in Uniontown from 2012. The conventional can be seen behind the bed of the blue and white Ford and the cabover is blocked by the cab. Google Earth aerial view shows them still parked there in June 2013.
  23. Have you been by there recently? I haven't (in daylight) for about 3 years.
