  1. Ken You would have to call Kansas City to find out inside availability.. 816-891-9900 ask for Shelley. Just do it next week as shes is on vacation until Monday 3/23/15 or direct to her desk 816-777-0949 or email shelley@aths.org
  2. Thanks Jeff I never did get some of mine resized.. Anyhow you are a better photographer!!!
  3. Just found the whole news clip has been posted on the brockwaytrucks.org site. I think Tom Millard's post and discussion is on the forum about a year or two ago.
  4. Joe is right. Before the days of Spring Lock brakes there were a lot of runaway truck accidents in the citys of northern PA and Central NY. Long Steep down hill into town and no where to go at the bottom!! Usually an intersection with a turn in it.. Blow one brake diaphram and NO AIR!!! or transiants getting the brakes hot.. Aurora Street hill (96B?) coming into Ithaca NY even had a sorta leveled railroad crossing by Morse Chain which created a ski jump effect.
  5. Larry Most of the inside parking is for like "Brass Era" and other high dollar rare vehicles. ATHS has offered it for about the last 4 years or so since they have gone to larger venues.
  6. Matt That Electric lead in still looks intact?? What did they have across the driveway from the other end of the building???
  7. Mark Try placing this question on the ATHS forum.. There should be a bunch of trucks / campers coming East for the York show..
  8. It was at the Vintage Trucks of FL show on March 6-7. Did not catch the owners name, but it Purrs like a kitten and he took it on the 20 mile round trip parade with no problems. I think it is the first one I have seen with Budd wheels.. Would that have been factory stock???
  9. Tom Gongratulations!!! You now look like a proper driver, Not some raghead steering wheel holder.... Thanks for the tour with pictures.. look forward to it..
  10. Might work with some products, BUT cleaning and possible contaminations would be a nightmare!!!
  11. Paul The anti freeze does that. The block heater warms the engine so that combustion by pressure will occur without the block absorbing all the heat generated..And to some extent warms the oil so the starter motor can turn the engine faster
  12. Here are some of the Macks at the ATCA Vintage Trucks of Florida chapter show this last weekend. Also here is a link to more show pictures http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/72061/Drove-up-north-today I have to crop and resize some others
  13. Thanks Jim.. I had the same idea when I was just on JOT..
  14. 84 Super Go here and they can answer all your questions and more!! http://www.plowsite.com/index.php
  15. Paul LI and Paul OZ I still cannot understand the reasoning behind these people?? Even today (in Ferguson MO) they loot / burn / destroy their OWN living areas / neighborhoods..
  16. Tom Thanks for the pictures.. That New River is a long one, Starting back over around Boone NC.. Sure am glad I am far enough south so we did not get any of your white stuff!!
  17. Only Vinny
  18. Paul Thanks for the research and pictures.. Very Interesting!!
  19. I think(??) that the race riots of the mid / late 60's was the down fall of the open cabs. TOO MUCH $H*T thrown on the drivers enroute to an event!!!!
  20. Green Dash I believe on that 45 miles of PA on 90, CF just used a regular tractor with a big ballast block in place of the 5th wheel and a pintle hitch to drag the kite trailers back and forth.
  21. Yes Mark I definately remember those. One of the nicknames was "suicide doubles".. PA did not allow doubles so this made them into a truck trailer which was legal. They basically ran between York PA and Akron OH. As said above it was a long wheelbase single axle with a long slide on the 5th wheel and the lead pup had folding landing gear. The lead pup was dedicated to break bulk freight between the 2 terminals and the rear would be any long haul pup.
  22. Mark In the early 70's CF had some of those Freightliner 4X4's running between Buffalo and Boston pulling twin 28 ft pups on the NY Thruway and Mass Pike back when the NYT regulations said that doubles had to have 2 driving axles.. UPS and everybody else was pulling 2 40 or 45 footers with twin screw tractors.
  23. Thanks fro the Google picture..Guess I am a big dummy?? Never looked around that much coming out to 29 from Bedford..
  24. When that sign hits some wires it should be an "electrifing experience"!!!
