    If you are an ATHS member you can get into their website.. All of the old WOT's are archived in digital form there. I remember that I saw some of the original typewritten newsletter type ones. No idea on how to search them????

    Bob' I have been working this part time landfill box site gig for 7 1/2 years now. Basically it is "on call", like the day or two before, although I have had ASAP's when someone calls in sick, but sometimes I get a weeks notice when one of the regulars takes vacation. Usually about 5-6 days a month. Our county has 10 of these sites and I have worked at all 10!!! The boss is active in a custom car club so when I say I have to be at a truck show or meeting it is no problem.

    Depending on the chemical property's of your water, be sure to use some additive or a filter with additives. This will help both your water pump and cylinder liners..

    Tom That improved to CH immensely.. Have you advertised the GMC anywhere much??? Possibly now that it is running OK you can sell it before you spend any money on the sleeper???

    It is in the mid 90's with a heat index well over 100 here.. I am still working at the landfill box sites part time. Only 5 hr shifts in a fan equipped shanty..

    Rick, from that short description it sound like worn forks or the small forks at the bottom of the shift lever are worn and jump out???? Next time you pull the tower take some good pictures of all of the above.. I had a 1959 Diamond T 921 Cab over that they told me would not go into reverse, turned out to be just an universal joint in the linkage.. I am sure some one here can help you better.

    I have seen a Cummins water pump that the fins were complete gone away due to acid water and not enough additives..

    Goeff, you are my type of parts man!!! You still have the books and can read them... Sadly ALL of new new kids can NOT!!!!! If your VIN number is not in the computer they are lost.. A few years ago the Car Quest man here in town got me a water pump for my 55 Ford F-600 with a 239 Y block only because he still had his old books out back..

    As Geoff said: That is a tube type tire.... Are you going back to the same shop that you bought the tire from, or at least one who handles that brand?? As Geoff said you should (??) get some warantee out of it..

    I think GW is right??? A pinched or rubbed thru wire somewhere far enough from the block that engine heat will NOT keep it dry and the moisture is letting it short out???? Since your blow dry cured it, somewhere on or near the firewall?????

    Matt, That was about the time I joined both organizations. I would say it is time to put your wife (just saw the word ex) back to work and write another article for both magazines. 😀 When I spoke with Darin, via email, about him writing an article about Dean's LJ truck after I sent in the pictures of it at the Dark Corner show he sorta bounced it back at me to write the article.. A project for me this Fall???
