JoJo I have seen alternators that look like a generator advertised,,, But I can not remember where??? try looking in some of the antique tractor magazines???? Looks like your trip to the ATHS show in Colfax has inspired / motivated you!!!!
  2. Vlad Glad to see you back.. I can understand some of the problems you are experiencing..
  3. JoJo I want to say late 70's into the early 80's.. They were in the IH COE's.. (4070???)
  4. Remember that Schneider, The Pumpkin, Had a lot of them..
  5. I understand that the 903 was not that popular here in the States, BUT the Australians used a LOT of them.. Hayseed, help me out!!
  6. TJC, Here is a picture of the Brown and Corbitt parked side by side.. There are several differences!!!
  7. Yes it is!!!!!
  8. Check with Ken Kafka 970-834-2416 nash2ton@thinair.net He is with the ATHS Intermountain West chapter and has several World War 1 Jeffery / Nash Quads, and I think a Coleman or two?? I met him at a HVTA show in Greeley back in about 2009 or so.
  9. It has the 50's era International Comp-fo-Vision cab. Keystone has used it as a hauling tractor to some shows.
  10. OD, Are you sure you did not get that picture off the Post Office wall?????? Sorry I had to miss you folks today. I hope you are going to post a gallery later so I can cry about the trucks I missed!!!
  11. I hope the was a beautiful young nurse holding your hand!!!!!!! That always helps things heal!!
  12. Bob, That is not a REO, It is a mid 50's Diamond T 950!!!!!! About 5 years before White bought both and 10 years before the name Diamond REO was created..
  13. Yep!! He's got a PhD in both business and mechanics from the School of Hard Knocks and Experience..
  14. Another reason I DO NOT fly anywhere.. So far I have never had a plane stop at a junkyard!!!!
  15. Technically speaking it would be named: The hand operated manual trailer brake application valve, but it has many "nicknames" starting with hand, trolley, spike, Johnson bar, and other similar names.
  16. Congratulations!!!!!!! What a neat venue for a wedding... Is Dave up and around???
  17. I had the "pleasure" of trying to get around on of UPS's propane powered KW's on I-77 / I-81 up around Wythville VA with my 23,000lb Dodge 3500 and 32 foot trailer.. You would have thought he had a 238 Detroit.. VERY slow on the up hill and a maniac downhill trying to make up the time creating a total traffic cluster f**k!!!!!!
  18. Probably not?? Do your brake lights come on with the foot pedal (no hand valve) in the Normal position??? If so, and you can see the brakes apply, your foot pedal should be OK.. There should be TWO stop light pressure switches.. The primary should(????) be on the cowl / firewall.. not too far from the underside of the foot pedal. In the service line which applies air to the tractor brakes when you step on the pedal. The switch you have in the trailer service line is there so you have brake lights when you use the hand valve ONLY.. In the emergency position there is no air to the trailer..
  19. Big Brother watching??? Probably??? I am trying to foil that as much as possible as I still have an old flip phone and my 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 can NOT talk to Fiat/Chrysler!!!!!
  20. WOW!!! Bring up the subject of Farm Plates!!! There are as many variations of the rules of their use as there are STATES!!! South Carolina is a state with very liberal usage laws.. Vehicles with a manufacture's unladen weight of less than 7500 pounds farm plates can be used for "General and Ordinary purposes".. I have been to Fairbanks Alaska and back on the farm plates on my F-250 pick up.. BUT I have not trailered (32 ft gooseneck) my 1 ton Diamond T 201 pick up to any shows west of DeMoines Iowa for fear of the western Port of Entry's questioning the rule.

Wheels of Time is the American Truck Historical Society magazine for $52 a year and also includes a picture book of all trucks attending the national show that year. You can join online at aths.org The Double Clutch is the magazine of the Antique Truck Club of America for $36 per year and personally I like it better!!! Also you can join online at : antiquetruckclubofamerica.org or send me your email address and I can send you an application by email. Their national show is only about 50 miles north of you on RT 100 in Macungie on Fathers Day Weekend. About 800+ trucks!!! Also look at your Tractor Supply store.. I think WOT is back on their rack?? And also Vintage Truck which favors trucks up to 2 1/2 ton.

I am the same, have Wheels of Time from 2002 to present and Double Clutch from about the same. I took about 4 plastic bins (all I could pick up) of other mags like Vintage Truck, Antique Power, Green JD Mags, and other misc stuff to the two big nursing homes here in Laurens SC.. Got lots of hugs as a reward!!!!
  23. Check with Barry at Watts Mack. He is the sponsor of this site and if he does not have them he might know here they are available.
  24. The laws vary greatly from state to state, AND what mood the cop is in!! The South Carolina DPS Transport Police (Diesel Cop) officer that attended our ATHS Chapter meeting defined Commercial as "Neither the driver or the vehicle gets any compensation".. He went on to say ribbons and trophy's are not compensation, BUT if you move someones piece of equipment and they buy your breakfast or a case of beer that becomes compensation.. He did not say it, BUT implied that it helped if you own the equipment on the trailer, so fill out a dummy bill of sale.. With a big truck it is best to go across the scale and let them see your Antique / Historical plate. Better than being chased down!!!! And especially going to a show have a show flyer with you.
  25. Thanks for sharing.. I have never been out on the Special Olympics Convoy route, But it is awesome to watch them leave Farmers Market with a lot of horn noise..
