  1. I know the man who owns the long legged Green Diamond REO and just sent him an email with a link to your pictures.
  2. Tom Thanks much for all the pictures.. I appreciate your efforts as I know it takes a lot of time to build an album like that!!
  3. Your picture of trucks arriving Saturday morning does not surprise me.. Last year about 150 trucks arrived on Sat AM!! That is when they filled the field behind to restroom building.
  4. I am sorry that I felt I could not afford the fuel to go up this year!! I have missed visiting with ya'll.. Have you heard what the total truck count was???
  5. Is Doug Fetterley, upstate NY, still making the SS/Chrome ones??
  6. What a wonderful survivor!!! That truck looks great to refurbish mechanistically to make it driveable, from the trailer to the show parking spot, and add some Linseed oil or clear coat to the patina and show it as is. Just trailer it to shows and do not worry about putting it on the road.
  7. V F Jeanswear Logistics / Wrangler Blue Jeans trucking fleet went all White in the late 90's from the Blue and Gold scheme that Dale Earnhart's race team publicity department designed and made famous.
  8. I do NOT think Brad and his show are associated with the ATHS Virginia Carolina chapter anymore although he should be able to get it listed?? Just looked the Virginia Carolina chapter itself is not even listed in the Wheels of Time so it must have gone belly up!!
  9. Nothing definitive??? Chapter Pres Brad Osteen usually picks it on Farcebook before I get an Email..
  10. I am hoping he has it done by Labor Day so he can bring it to either the Dacusville SC and/or Lincolnton NC shows
  11. Possibly??? But you never know!!! My 49 Diamond T 201 would go for about $50K (+/-) But last fall one went at the Hershey Auction for $147K!!! All depends on how bad someone wants it!!
  12. Both my wife and I were able to work to Social Securities full age. Although we only had less than 15 years in both a company retirement plan and our 401's we have enough coming in to keep us comfortable as everything is paid for. BUT, I am NOT shelling out a $1000 just for fuel to go to Macungie. Somehow I get the feeling that a recession is still ahead of us!!!
  13. That PTO mounted in the frame rails is actually a transfer case (I think??) It is the way most fire trucks power their pump.
  14. It is possible that the engine does NOT have that many hours as the pumping unit MAY have had it's own engine for pumping power???? Does the tach have an hour meter???
  15. I did not realize the C model is yours also!! I was parked near you with the Little Diamond T 201 pick up.. We will have to meet face to face one day at one of these shows..
  16. Vlad, If it was originally a tractor it might well have lighter suspension and the Oil Field pump just overloaded the $h!t out of it!!!!
  17. That last picture looks like it was taken when the ATHS WNC chapter was at the Arden WNC Ag Center???
  18. Vlad Thanks for posting those pictures and the account of getting this truck.. Your posts are always interesting.
  19. We always called it a "Chain Link Starter"!!!
  20. Very True!!! As well as turning OFF fossil fuel sources before there is a feasible replacement.. Typical lack of common sense with a "Greenie" attitude!!
  21. 006, It will be hard to tell the exact year from those photos as the 200 series Brockway lasted for about 10 years with not many small changes.. Paul, American Joe Dog equals an Aussie "Jeep"
  22. Aussie "bogie drive" is the same as American Tandem or twin screw drive.. Paul you are probably right although some steel haulers used a tag axle to save tare weight.. Dead axle in Aussie terms.
  23. Brockway started using the Sheller Globe Mack R model cab in about 1975 +/- 6 months. Although they looked alike, and were made by the same company, they are not totally interchangeable. The cowl section was different because Brockway was still using a metal butterfly hood and Mack a fiberglass tilt hood.
  24. 006, You did not list your location, If you are within traveling distance of Cortland. The Brockway Weekend, the second weekend of August, in Cortland NY is the largest brand specific truck show (120 to 150 Brockways) in the country located at the Central NY Living history Museum on Route US 11 between Cortland and Homer in the beautiful central Finger Lakes region of New York State. There are a total of 4 museums located in this complex: Brockway, Tractors of yesteryear, Hometown with a lot of military and railroad stuff, and the newly established Firehouse which I have not seen yet. Friday is unloading, "Husky Drive" tour to lunch at Greek Peak ski center, fundraiser dinner, auction, all day BS session, and fireworks. Saturday is a parade from the museum to the static display area. This year it will be in a new location in Homer NY as Main Street in downtown Cortland is under construction.
