  1. I remember having to pull shims on a Brockway gas job in the middle of a Syracuse NY uphill street to get it to go thru the red light!!!
  2. They will not shut down big oil as they need the fuel for generation of power for their electric cars... This mornings TV news said there will be a shortage of electricity for air conditioning this summer!!
  3. I went over my limit a long time ago and now use the free "Postimiages" hosting site.. It takes a minute longer but works fine..
  4. I always said that was my wife's theme song when we were running team together.. When that "R" position on the shift knob was required I would hear "Brocky help!!" And is is also from Georgia!!
  5. Larry, Not to throw a damp rag on your chrome dash ideas, BUT wouldn't a lot of chrome inside the cab throw too much glare / sun flashes into your eyes??? Thus creating blind moments????
  6. We need more info!!! Like what engine this is?? And in what??? If you have the old belt any parts house with an older counterman, not one of these new computer jockeys!!, should be able to measure it and match you up with a new one..
  7. I DO NOT know about the "G", But the "N" Definitely was..
  8. James, I do not know the time line of development from the "G" to the "F" and where the "N" fitted into it???? OR who actually designed the "F" as I understand that the "F" was built by Sheller Globe in Ohio???? I have not seen Mr. Karbel on here in a while to answer these questions.. Does Mike Harbison have any answers??
  9. Bob is right, I think you are thinking of the "N" model Mack?? About the only part of the "F" model Mack that looks the same as the Budd cab is the windshield size and curvature..

I think the one thing I did wrong was in 1964, after receiving my 2 year tech school degree, was letting myself get talked into going on for a teachers degree rather than enlisting in the Navy.. Never taught full time as I found out I could NOT handle kids!!!
  12. The Millard Family!!! Tom posted some pictures on Farcebook with pictures of a Chevy pickup he is restoring with his brother..
  13. Matt and H67, I want to thank you both for posting progress pictures of your restorations.. I am simply amazed at the skill level in both of your restorations..

In the late 60's I removed, repaired, and replaced a Heavy 4 speed transmission in a F-700 Ford straight truck on a dirt floor with 2 pieces of rope and a stack of used pallets.. That took a little Yankee ingenuity and experience in tying down loads of hay..
  17. I think ANY kind of adverse weather is going to create some wild reactions??? Especially with electric motor drive when they go to full torque instantly!!!! No feathering the throttle and slipping the clutch!!!!!
  18. The late Buddy Sombart of eastern Kansas had system built that lifted him and his wheelchair up into a Marmon COE and he could drive it from the wheelchair!!!!

  20. Go to the Odds and Ends section:: Other truck makes:: subforum Brockway Trucks:: And email / PM:: Oldspwr, Tom Millard.. There used to be Continental engine people in both Utica NY and the Chicago ILL area.. Tom will know of both!! and/or someone else to help you..
  21. Bob, I know he was in an unhappy home situation and his Grandfather was helping him restore The U model.. Possibly his grandfather passed away and the whole project went down the drain?? He was only 16 when I met him at Macungie several years ago. If Mike Harbison has a Facebook connection with him maybe Mike can remind him to stop by here with an update???
  22. Very True!!! And got old enough to have a pickup truck as a daily driver..
