  1. I stand corrected on the bottom dump VS end dump trailers.. I also thought most of the hay haulers used cabovers to gain more trailer length as hay is a lighter cargo. I am an east coaster who has only run Calif occasionally!! And have not been out there in 11 years
  2. Vlad A single axle is very common in Calif pulling double tankers and dump trlrs.
  3. Sharp truck!! Is that Osborn on the door?? From Wyoming??? They are good Mack People..
  4. Matt, Congratulations on the excellent progress!!! Gonna be beautiful!!
  5. Joey Do you not realize that the voting machines are programmed to "screw up" when the red votes get ahead of the red votes???? That way the blue is guaranteed to win on the recount!!!
  6. Right now the weather man is not looking promising??
  7. Most of our chapter members, including myself, are going to the Waynesville show.
  8. I may be wrong, BUT I think the majority of the "Supply Chain" problems which are driving inflation up are caused by the greedy Wall Street money jockeys who have driven American manufacturing overseas just to get a good looking bottom line. I can only hope that the Ukraine situation does not morph into WW 3 as America does NOT have the manufacturing base to survive that we had in 1940.
  9. Thanks Seed!! and keep them coming..
  10. Thanks for the stories!! I had never heard of swapping doors either!! I have heard that at one time New York plates were not legal in Quebec and Maislin Transport mounted their plates on the tandem unit and with their Strick outside latch sliders trailers the Champlain NY shop would swap the entire boggie units!!!
  11. You are doing a fantastic job!!!! I also like Swishy's idea of adding a fairly simple Aussie "Roo Bar" to the front!!! Thanks for keeping up updated.. I hope to be able to see it in person someday.
  12. Our Chapter President and his father are in the water and sewer construction business, Saturday he told me they are having to raise their rates along with everybody else, BUT some of his jobs were bid on 6 to 10 months ago and it is very hard to get raises on them..
  13. Bob mentions that diesel went up $.40/gal in one day last week in Nevada, It did the same here or more here in South Carolina!!! Jumped from about $4.65-80 to $ 5.19!!!!! Saturday EVERYBODY in the Greenville SC area was $5.19.. COINCIDENCE????????
  14. Vehicles left out in the rain with the shift tower exposed WILL draw moisture which settles to the bottom and then freeze in the winter thus cracking the bottom of the unit. Farm tractors, especially John Deere's were famous for this!!!!
  15. It has dropped a little here in SC.. From a high of $4.89 to about $4.60-5 at the local stations. Have not been out on the Interstate.. 2 weeks ago went to Columbia and the Pilot and Loves were up to $5.25!!!
  16. Like me you are a lot closer to the Waynesville show.. Easy to make it a one day round trip. And the construction is about 6 of one and a half dozen of the other between I-26 and I-85!! The Hennis "C" model Mack, that resides in the Ashville area, might be there also???
  17. It is GREAT to see the kids interested in helping!!!
  18. Thank you for posting that flyer. It is also "Train Day" at the Transportation Museum, so there will be many Railroad Buffs there to explain their very large train museum.. Now I am thinking about going up there with my DT instead of the Waynesville NC show.. Somebody messed up in the scheduling.. Three shows in NC on the same date as there is also a show in Kenley at the Petro. The eastern edition of the Walcott Jamboree!!
  19. Those are different than the shims in an early 50's Brockway. Probably a Lipe Clutch(??) that had a half inch stack of .010 to .025 shims held in place on a stud with 9/16 nut in about 6 places around the clutch.. To adjust the clutch you took the nut off and picked out 1 or 2 shims with a screwdriver, a sharp punch, or an awl.
  20. I remember having to pull shims on a Brockway gas job in the middle of a Syracuse NY uphill street to get it to go thru the red light!!!
  21. They will not shut down big oil as they need the fuel for generation of power for their electric cars... This mornings TV news said there will be a shortage of electricity for air conditioning this summer!!
  22. I went over my limit a long time ago and now use the free "Postimiages" hosting site.. It takes a minute longer but works fine..
  23. I always said that was my wife's theme song when we were running team together.. When that "R" position on the shift knob was required I would hear "Brocky help!!" And is is also from Georgia!!
  24. Larry, Not to throw a damp rag on your chrome dash ideas, BUT wouldn't a lot of chrome inside the cab throw too much glare / sun flashes into your eyes??? Thus creating blind moments????
  25. We need more info!!! Like what engine this is?? And in what??? If you have the old belt any parts house with an older counterman, not one of these new computer jockeys!!, should be able to measure it and match you up with a new one..
