  1. Bob, When we ran Sparks in the later 90's we would go over to Balley's for their $4.95 or $5.95 Brunch Buffet. Then "Waddle" back to the truck and not need to eat again until the next day!!! Later in the mid to late 2000's, when we drove for Wrangler Blue Jeans, we had a trip to the VF/Wrangler salesperson's conference, with all the clothes and conference material, at the RIO hotel in Las Vegas. The buffets were $12 to $18, outrageous!!! It also happened to be NASCAR weekend and they had the machines shut down tight. My wife went thru $35 in the blink of an eye!! Sunday morning after we got everything reloaded, we stopped down around Searchlight for lunch. A $6.95 Prime Rib dinner and my wife made about $20 bucks off the quarter poker machine in a half hour..
  2. My wife and I used to run to Sparks NV (Reno) a lot.. Had to deliver 8 AM Monday then wait til 5 PM for our load out to LA. Went to the Alamo (now a Petro??) for a shower and breakfast. We set a limit at $20!! When it was gone we went back to the customer. Sometimes we left in an hour, other days we still had nickels or quarters in our pocket when it was time to leave.
  3. If it has moved to New York State I hope they can bring it to Macungie so all of us can see it in person..
  4. If you can figure out when it would be working hours up here in the States Eastern time give Barry a call or email him thru here..
  5. so Far it has NOT been posted!!
  6. If you are just pulling a camper I would not bother... BUT if you are running a lot of nights in Deer / Moose country you might need it??
  7. YEP!!!!!! I have only seen them on restorations..
  8. Very GooD!!! Thanks for taking the time to post all those pictures..
  9. WOW!! That truck is in Fantastic shape as well as being a rare mixer. It belongs in someone's collection just as it is!!!
  10. Congrats to an excellent pair of parents!!!
  11. I use Postimage also and use the "direct link" option to post a picture on here. When Just Old Trucks picture program was down I had to use the "thumbnail for forums" option, But on BMT all it gives you is a lot of words and no picture.
  12. Although they are East of you both Barry at Watts and Matt Pfahl might know of someone interested in swapping a tractor for a mixer?????
  13. That is a great looking original truck.. Before you go the Auction route I would contact Dave Coutu at the Keystone Museum, Colonial Heights VA, to see if they might be interested in it???? Many of us know him as he is the man who takes all their equipment to shows and is on this site once in a while as user: Maint1.. He might even know of a suitable B model tractor available to replace the mixer??
  14. Call Barry at Watts Mack.. Phone # above!!
  15. I agree with Michael!! Keep it intact!!
  16. OK, I understand.. A slow mind in the morning??
  17. It must have had a smaller orifice in the valve cover to maintain oil pressure in the engine????
  18. His user name is Freightrain. Go to one of his posts and click on his user name which will get you to his profile and then you can either PM or email him.
  19. Hopefully Larry Freightrain will chime in?? He added a bunk to his B model but I think he stretched the frame also???
  20. The Osterman Diamond REO Giant built in Carlisle PA used a lot of them until they could not meet EPA emissions tests. There may still be a few scattered around central PA??
  21. Doug Fetterley in Harrisville NY was making aluminum batter boxes.. No idea if he has the latches???
  22. I think that is the way petroleum tankers are designed??? Take a look next time you see one..
  23. I would also add a "come along" type winch from the bottom rear of the cab to a crossmember so you can go gently after it overcenters and not rely entirely on the hydraulic system.
  24. Contact Mike Harbison SR either thru here or on Facebook.. He can answer your questions and supply what parts you might need..
  25. About 1960 (+/-) our school bus contractor had a pusher school bus with a straight air clutch in it, with a foot valve identical to the brake pedal.. This was before spring lock parking brakes, just DO NOT park it in gear or you were going to run over something before you built up air enough to the release the clutch!!!!!!
