I had a 55 way back when I was a teenager, but it was a F 600 didn’t have it very long. It was kind of a long story truck was in really good shape though and we got it for almost nothing. Nice purchase looks real good and yes, that’s the problem with a lot of older stuff Armstrong  steering

I had to take 6 pictures for the insurance man this morning. All 4 sides, the interior, and the engine. I was hoping he didn't need to see the engine because...well, because he's the insurance man. It's a 351M out of a 78 Cougar, but it looks like a Sonny Leonard mountain motor in that truck. And I'm sure the aluminum Intake and valve covers and chrome breather make it look more hot rodded than it is. I sent him the pictures and haven't heard anything back from him yet.

Sweet Rig. Never had a 351M. Had a 400M in my 79 Bronco with a edelbrock Aluminum intake and a Holley 650 4-barrel.

A nice lady from the insurance company called me today. She wanted to know where the new '55 Ford pickup would be stored. So I told her "in a carport that's closed in on 3 sides".

With one side being the roof, but I didn't tell her that part. She said "ok, great! thanks, that's all I needed".

Then she called back about about 5 minutes later and said "I've got your numbers, it's 219".

I didn't say anything at first and she said "is that ok?''

I said "yeah, I just thought it would be a lot more- I thought it would be like a million dollars ".

Sounds like Grundy or Haverty.  219 per year is super cheap. They wanted more then that per month for our, ,  should have been yours' C-10...

Yes, it's Hagerty. She said that was for a year, but I think it must be for how much more it added to the policy I already have, that I pay every 6 months. I have the GMC and the big green International that runs now insured with Hagerty.

Thank you, I'm going to do that right now. I'm on a Ford site now that I joined when I had the '87, but I don't remember the name of it. Haven't been on it in years.

Maybe that is for a year then. I told the insurance man to insure it for $30,000.

I said 25 at first and he sent me this-

So I said let's put 30 on it then. I don't know that the truck is worth that much since it's not original, but I'm happy with that insurance price anyway.

I can tell you Values of Old trucks are going up especially if Customized. Yours would easily bring 30-40k at the auction especially with the 351 sitting under the hood. Now if someone did a dumb like Hot rod guys do and put Chevy motors in Ford Vehicles then that'd be an issue 😆 🤣 😂 😹

They do that so the Fords run!

I've got a 76 Chevy C20 that runs good and I've had several Old Fords that ran good too! Back then it didn't matter what it was they all were built quality and they all ran good

I've had  '69, '71, '87, and 2002 Ford pickups, and a '76 and '91 Dodge. They were all pretty good trucks except the 91 Dodge. The 69 was a good one and the 2002 Ranger was one of the best vehicles I ever had. That's one I should have kept, but I traded it when I bought my Impala. My dad always had Chevrolet or GMC pickups until the last one he had, a Dodge Dakota.
