I wired my dash lights and the back of the dash, plan is making a harness from my switch’s to their components , I put a universal fuse box on the inside to feed the switch’s. Popular Post 1961H67 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2022 Yep it’s going to be a winter project for sure,, I can’t stand messy wiring ( I’ve bought a couple trucks that looks like someone stuck a weed eater under the dash! ) But on the bright side with a one wire Alternator the wiring is pretty simple. 1961H67 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Share Posted September 17, 2022 Probably at this point I have reduced the number of wires so I’ll be better off making one. As for the 220s I’m not a expert on them,, I heard they came out in 1959, this one was a Cummins recon, put in in 1963 ,, the welding supply co had it done,, ( unsure if the old disc pump 200 would be accepted as a core back then) I have a friend with a old Gallion motor grader with a 220 , it has 2 accessary drives like mine,, I believe I saw one with a Super Charger driven with a chain off the right accessory drive,, Maybe all factory options. I was Truly Honored to be one of his Paul Bearers . His real name was “ Hubert Mack Jones “ . I've been so fortunate to know a number of them. short story never forgotten by one of my mentors was how He took an AC chain drive Mack with well rig on the back from CT to Maine for a job. trip was three (3) days ride EACH way. My Godfather was a Navy LST Captain in WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatre. One of my neighbors was a 18 year old Marine on Iwo Jima, stayed in the Reserves after WWII and was called up for Korea and served in the Chosin Reservoir. Several members in the volunteer fire department I was in as a 16YO served in WWII, one in the Battle of the Bulge. I always knew I would join and to fly helicopters was my ultimate dream. Joining was a way to fulfill it. Becoming a Trooper was part of my sense of service. One career played well with the other, but caused a lot of personal sacrifice. I never imagined where those jobs would take me, but I always knew there was risk involved in both. That was really the first time I ever wrote anything about it down. They were my "jobs" and just what I "did" to make a living and secure my future. But, now, looking back, Holy Shit I can't believe I did that and experienced what I did. Somehow, to me, it pales in comparison to what the "Greatest Generation" did during WWII. 1961H67 Posted September 22, 2022 Author Share Posted September 22, 2022 Yes I’m so glad to have had Family members and Guys I worked with when I was young,, that was part of the “ Greatest Generation “ , I cherish the countless stories they told me,, Literally , from Pearl Harbor, to the Battle of the Bulge ( Even my Grandmother made Parachutes working at American Enka during WWII ) . A friend of many years brought his B73 ,, When he got it back in the 80s it was a single axle day cab, with a Mack engine,, he put it on a newer model tandem air ride, and a turned up 400 Cummins,, it may not be noticeable from the picture ,, but he added 6 inches to the back of the hood, fenders, radiator are set forward, gives plenty of room for Horton air fan and more room to access the engine,, So I had a good dose of motivation today! 4 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
