Back in the early 80's we had a delivery driver with a chassis mounted crane who forgot to lower the boom. He was listening to a Walkman player and took down two freeway signs before someone caught his attention to stop. Needless to say the company banned headphones after that. If you have a stereo cranked up it would have the same effect.

They do the same thing with dump beds and excavator booms. I have seen it.

I like your idea of upgrading the pintle hitch area.. Will you need to add air glad hands?? You will probably have to attach your light bar / mud flap hangers to the end of the frame.. That Goose neck ball looks a little far back for good weight distribution???

Gooseneck ball is going away, it's set up for electric .brakes which is OK since all my tag trailers are Electric. Gonna bend up some diamond plate fenders and wi incorporate the lights and mudflap hangers into the fenders.

When I bought this from Tom Amaducci he gave me a power steering setup for it. Anybody know lf the pump bolts onto any air compressor? The pump came bolted to an old compressor but the one in the truck looks like a fairly recent replacement.  Also looks like the dipstick tube is occupying the same space as the pump but I think it can be reshaped.

Whoever built this toolbox / deck plate/ dance floor had to be a sociopath or an utter maniac. C channels welded to the frame flanges then the whole thing was built on the truck so getting it off means cutting it up into little pieces. Actually happy it's coming off the more I look at it the worse it looks to me.

first Mack for me was a brand new DM611 SX ; quad box;; took it to a glass shop for window repair , I was 18 . mechanics stood outside laughing as new kid TRIED to shift a quad going down road.

A short wheelbase doesn't get much help with air ride.  When I lengthened mine 5 ft, it really took the short, bucky ride out of it.  With no trailer, mine still rides rough with no weight over the rear.
