Back in the early 80's we had a delivery driver with a chassis mounted crane who forgot to lower the boom. He was listening to a Walkman player and took down two freeway signs before someone caught his attention to stop. Needless to say the company banned headphones after that. If you have a stereo cranked up it would have the same effect.

They do the same thing with dump beds and excavator booms. I have seen it.

I would of thought a spoked/spider axle would be easy to come across with a good ratio

A rear axle off a bogie drive I would think would be a give away type of deal just about

The more I think about it I'll probably just change the gearing.  I actually would like to keep the spokes. It would be a whole lot cheaper and I am a cheap bastard. It would  be nice to have airride though.

Nice going bud thanks for the updates and I have shit sitting around here. I bought for mine way longer than seven years ha ha let’s keep it up very hard to do anything on these things when you’re still working…. Bob

I like your idea of upgrading the pintle hitch area.. Will you need to add air glad hands?? You will probably have to attach your light bar / mud flap hangers to the end of the frame.. That Goose neck ball looks a little far back for good weight distribution???
