Forklift jib crane

I’d build one. They’re pretty simple and straight forward and will likely save you big $$$ over buying a new one. Plus I enjoy fabrication.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Are you shore you may have the reach you need are the forks 42's or 48's and what model is that Toyota it should have a class 2 fork frame. My old clark has short forks but I used it as is with putting a heavy bar across the forks and I had no trouble changing my engine.

Forks are 46”.    Off the top of my head it’s a 42-3fg25.     Gonna make the boom about 6’ long I have two pieces of 3”x8” box about 28” long I’m going to use for the forks to go through and build off of them.  Something like this but I’m going to make the boom raise up at a little angle.     My garage is a little small and I have to work through the door opening.  This will give me a little more clearance  599BD485-5AC3-47CF-8FC5-66D384B55A3F.thumb.png.ff40bfe48d8709982a9592cf8c113a09.png

It’s a 5000 pound lift and I have a few thousand pounds of suitcase weights to hang on the back if I need too.   I don’t really know what the 673 weighs but my cherry picker is only rated for 1 ton handled the 8.3 ok.

A 673 should be around 2000 to 2400 pounds, depending on how many accessories are on it. You want to have the engine as close to the forklift as possible of course, you lose capacity as the load is moved farther out.

You're right on the 2,000 to 2,400 lbs. number.

Here’s what I came up with.     Look what I noticed on the steel I’m using.   The new stuff I bought is USA 🇺🇸.    The older stuff I’m repurposing is Canada 🇨🇦
