Why aren't you told?

We're generally told that our theme song is a "government of the people, by the people, for the people". Most agree that Lincoln pegged it.

So why then do the people's employees keep secrets from the people?

The President (whomever it may be at the time) is chosen by the people. If he/she is alleged to have been involved in wrongdoings, should not the people be in the loop on that? In its entirety? After all, the people are allegedly "the boss" in a democracy (In a democracy, political issues are supposedly decided by a majority vote of the people).

Why would it ever be appropriate to hide (cover up) such matters from "the people" ?

Attorney General Barr weighs how much of Trump-Russia report to release

Associated Press  /  March 24, 2019

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William Barr has scoured special counsel Robert Mueller’s confidential report on the Russia investigation with his advisers, deciding how much Congress and the American public will get to see about the two-year probe into President Donald Trump and Moscow’s efforts to elect him.

Barr was on pace to release his first summary of Mueller’s findings on Sunday, people familiar with the process said.

The attorney general’s decision on what to finally disclose seems almost certain to set off a fight with congressional Democrats, who want access to all of Mueller’s findings — and supporting evidence — on whether Trump’s 2016 campaign coordinated with Russia to sway the election and whether the president later sought to obstruct the investigation.

Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller and oversaw much of his work, analyzed the report on Saturday, laboring to condense it into a summary letter of main conclusions. Mueller delivered his full report to Barr on Friday.

The Russia investigation has shadowed Trump for nearly two years and has ensnared his family and close advisers. And no matter the findings in Mueller’s report, the probe already has illuminated Russia’s assault on the American political system, painted the Trump campaign as eager to exploit the release of hacked Democratic emails to hurt Democrat Hillary Clinton and exposed lies by Trump aides aimed at covering up their Russia-related contacts.

Why is there such a push to legalize more drugs?

To keep the "people" stoned and happy....   Maybe happy people ask fewer questions?

Hah-and in the dumb ass state of Mass, our gov is now very worried about law enforcements ability to ID an impaired driver as the technology is not the same as alcohol detection.  Wonder why the legalization of all these "recreational shops" was not delayed until the issue of "driving under the influence" was not nailed down first.

I have been thinking the same thing. We have no way of telling if you’re stoned in the field (that I’m aware of) but everyone jumps on the band wagon to leagalize drugs. I’ve also laughed at the hypocrisy of dope smoking. We’ve spent billions of dollars the last 30 years with ads, lawsuits and passing new laws to get people to quit smoking but now since its pot all of the risks somehow goes out the window.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Because it has been a 2-year opposition research attempt to dig up or create dirt on Trump, his family, and his associates in preparation for 2020. There is no reason for rumors, lies, or wild & unverified allegations (like the dossier) to be made public.

For sure on the hypocrisy of the "smoke free" effort.  Camels will f-up your lungs.  Weed-only your mind!

Other than the secretive methods used to find data, why can’t we see what WE bought? It’s such a stupid question I can’t answer it, which is even more ridiculous.

Smoking.....

Was doing some research on socialist countries. You assume they steal your personal rights for the collective, they don’t. In China the government still slaps smokers a high-five. Government sells them the tobacco. >60% of all Chinese doctors smoke. Once they control (and tax) a vice it’s time to cash in. Same crap coming down the pike here. Check the ratio on relation of psychosis and Marijuana use.
