I always thought 89 was the last year for the real R. I love them models!

You got me thinking now. I know the last b model and the last superliner are pretty well known trucks. Anybody know of the last R model built? As in true R model, not  RD.

1989 was the last year of production.  This truck was probably registered in 1990 and was written for that year.

The R suffix indicates a right hand drive model with production continuing into 1990.

Date of sale and title in N.Y., there was a B Model 6 wheel dump owned by Horan Sand and Gravel they bought new from Mineola Mack and was titled as a 1967.

The production list lists three of them built until 1990, the R686R, R688R and R690R. I don't know what the last R is for.  1990 was also the last year for the RD.

I think 2004 was the last year for  the  RD.

I read somewhere there was a special edition of the RD, legend, which were the last ones built. Anybody know of them?

Yup, tail end of the line.  Here is some previous discussion.

What the difference  between the R and RD  the frame.

The RD was larger and slightly thicker frame material.

R          9" X 3.25" X .250"

RD  10.62" X 3.25" X .312"
