Need bearings...

Not abused, and was well maintained. As I've learned owning a lot of old iron over the years, sometimes "S" just happens...Not sure what brand components were used. I do know it had a full rebuild kit at the time.

I can agree with that, had a NEW engine all pro built lock up years ago. Oil flow was stopped/slowed somehow.

If it laid with old oil for a long, long time, the acids and moisture in the oil will erode the bearing faces too.

Not saying Mack every did this but I have seen engines from the factory with bearings being .002; also seen engines with cranks not stamped; I was going by you saying it didn't have many miles on it; would think it would have to have alot of miles on it to make a vibration & loose oil pressure
