New guy from The Netherlands with a B53

Hi there,

I am Roel from the Netherlands and i am restoring a B53.

I think i will have many questions since i never restored a Truck.

I posess also a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am [ 1974 ]

And a PontiacFirebird Esprit [ 1973]

ill post some pics, but i have a question.

What kind of oil goes in a B53 and how much.

Same for the transmission.

You could also use straight grade 30 weight but the 15W-40 will be probably be easier to find. 15W-40 has been used for many years here as the standard "diesel" engine oil.

Shell Rotella T or Chevron Delo 400 are a couple of examples. Both have an API service rating of CJ-4. API is American Petroleum Institute. I don't know if that is used in Europe or if there is a information crossover that indicates products to use in diesel engines.

Where did you imported it from?

The States?

711 is more powerful than 673.

Don't you have an extra set of rear axle gears by a chance?
