  1. I had to Google 'HNIC'... Holy shit... learn something new every day.
  2. How about the cheapie Lowes or Home Depot alternatives.?? Have any experience with that stuff?
  3. I have heard that they should be changed every time a head is pulled.... I know this engine has been apart, but they must have reused most of the bolts. As a course of preventative maintenance should that be a concern for a truck I'd like to put to work?
  4. The F-series died as a work truck in 1997. . . just my opinion though. '61 was a cool truck...
  5. Thanks, maybe I'll call Barry Monday. I spoke with Cody about it, but he ran into a dead end.
  6. I've been perusing Western Mack pics now that I'm the proud owner of a '80 RW, and one thing I've noticed that puzzles me and was hoping for some insights: All the WS Cruiseliner's I've seen have the Bulldog cradled in a horseshoe donning a (ridiculous or is it curious?) cowboy hat. Why is this not-so-subtle nod to the truck's Western (including the spurs) origins missing on all the Hayward built Superliners? Ron
  7. I understand now why they're no longer available.... many trucks probably didn't use them
  8. I'm here to say that those A model bunks are a nice look. Match the cab better, although the Able matches the nose. . .decisions decisions.
  9. That looks great to me. I think I actually like it better than an Able bunk.
  10. Best guess would be that those 'newer' bolts were used to replace broken bolts? I've heard that broken bolts have been a problem....
  11. What does it mean to you then that I only have three small ones on one head, and all the rest on the engine are the bigger ones? I'm still looking into some sort of furnace cement and wrap to stop exhaust leak, just can't bring myself to tear it all apart for one leak.... I know we discussed leaks before....
  12. So the smaller head(ed) bolt is the 'newer' or "older"?
