  1. Your CL cross members look like mine?
  2. Are you pretty sure about that? You mean the cross member bracket isn't meant to be removed from the crossmember itself? I tried pounding one of those plow bolts out (without damaging it)... wouldn't budge... That's why I'm asking. Every crossmember is like the one photoed. One plow bolt on all four corners. The rest of the bolts are normal flanged bolts.
  3. They same can be said of the migration into Western Europe. It is just mind boggling to me that able-bodied Syrian men are running scared to white western europe instead of standing up for their country. Africans too.... Then look at what happened in Paris tonight... and tell me immigration isn't dangerous.
  4. Don't know, haven't put a load on it yet. I have to admit, I'm turbo-stupid.... As far as bobtailing around, it seems pretty snappy, but maybe thats more to do with the pump? Its my first E9. Honestly don't know much about them (obviously)
  5. Air Research M12 is the only ID I can find on it... cast right into the intake housing. I can't find anything on it myself.... I've heard this before about the John Deere turbo.....
  6. Best news I've had in months!
  7. Pictures of plow bolts... They are 'supposed' to come out right?
  8. Don't you wonder about the day that truck ended up in the woods? Were the owners like "We'll just pull the plug here in the woods, it'll be out of the way, and a tree will never fall on it. . . someday something'll get done with it.... Oh shit! a tree fell on the Kenworth!" What are the chances? Pretty good I'd say!
  9. Fuckin' eh? nice
  10. Since you guys are talking turbos; mine was replaced shortly before I bought it.... It says AirResearch M12.... Is that a good thing?
  11. 70's 80's... Classic looks. Mechanical engines. Air conditioning. Tilt hoods. Can still realistically earn a living with them today. Did I mention the mechanical engine bit???? A wide assortment of power plants for the discerning buyer. Or should I say "discriminating" buyer? Oh and one more small thing...E9-V8!
  12. Wasn't that the truck on ebay with the engine knock?
  13. Makes me wonder if these were a Hayward California thing....
  14. Wow, rich family history there..... 20th Maine got the worst of it. .. they wrote a pretty big check for the emancipated slaves. er wait, I mean the Union...
  15. No, these are like a counter-sunk plow bolt, minus the square shoulder. We use them on our chisel plow and our moldboard.... but these are much larger. Really no option either because there isn't room between the frame rail and the bracket... I can't remove the brackets without driving out these bolts, when its daylight I'll snap a photo. I haven't worked on many trucks, so I don't know if these are common or not...
  16. Like so many other things, I'm more worried about them being "no longer available". They are odd looking things, and since there's only four, I don't mind buying them.... if I can get'em.
  17. I am taking a crossmember out of my Super to clean rust/paint behind it. Four bolts are "plow bolts" with no heads on them. I removed all the others, and 'hinged' the crossmember on those plow bolts, so its loose in the frame... but if I want to remove the member from the frame mounts, am I supposed to just knock those plow bolts out? Can they be reused? I know on an actual moldboard 9 out 10 times they won't hold tight again. Does the above make sense? Thanks. Ron
  18. I was the first in my family to go to a formal college. Some of my cousins didn't finish high school, none of my grandparents went past the 8th grade.... My cousins work in fabricating, welding, mechanic-ing etc etc... they're doing great. My grandparents bought farms (and made them productive) avoided debt and my generation is reaping the benefits of their common sense, hatred of debt, and cleverness. They certainly learned more in 8 years than most do in 12 or even 16 years. (I will be the first to admit there have been a lot of changes since then) Today, debt is the norm, not a shame... a joke sometimes, especially when it comes to student loans, but the USA's esteemed institutions are the envy of the world because of a history of free thought, selectivity, and competition. As far a free college goes, I can tell you with absolute confidence and certainty; low-cost (or free) community colleges do NOT have the respect to gain admissions to selective post graduate institutions. When I applied to medical school (and was denied), I got to know the assistant to an admissions Dean. She told me that the rigor of low-cost schools isn't there, leading to a less-than-desirable candidates. When something is free, usually its not as selective, nor is it competitive, although there are outliers. Therefore the teaching gets watered down, and so it goes.....
  19. Young people are not children. The "we" in your statement is the "nanny state?" The loans may be rubber stamped, but nobody held a gun to these students heads and forced them to make the university profitable. I absolutely agree that its a business too.
  20. It took me 11 years to finish my undergraduate degree. Eleven years of pinching pennies and pinching cow titties (quite literally). I paid for all of it, at a private school, on time, without any credit/loans whatsoever. I got a so-called 'useless' liberal arts degree, after 4 semesters of studying Biology. I value my degree in ways a free education never could. Take the onus of personal responsibility for payment away, and the education becomes even more worthless. I've seen it. I know students who amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of school debt and laugh at the prospect of EVER paying it back. I call them thieves. Don't tell me school should be free.
  21. I never heard of "Executive Action" until this prick showed up.
  22. Nothing like the Nazi's to dole out some comic relief!
