  1. Herb the truck has an American Bosch pump, the 300+s that i have seen had a Robert Bosch pump i dont if it has been detuned to a 285 or not, thanks for reminding me about the other posts i forgot about it, is it easyer to take the pump off to do it or just take the side cover off. Thanks Ron
  2. I just bought a 74 RS700L for 450 dollars it had a 325hp V8, 5 speed a few years ago a guy put an ETAZ673A in it and ran it for a few years, the cab is shot has a 36" double eagle sleeper. it has been sitting for a few years, we pulled it to get it started, it took awile to start but it did start then the pump stuck full throttle the sutdown was working but wouldnt shut it off, had to disconnect the fuel line to shut it down, i was wandering if any of you guys had trouble with the rack sticking open on the newer bosch pumps like the ones in the old 673s, can you take a plate off spray blaster on something in there to get it unstuck! when the rack sticks open does the govenor keep the RPM from going to high or is the RPM unlimited til the engine blows! Thanks Ron
  3. Would the tipturbine intercooler from a E6 work on a E7 just wandering. Ron
  4. Barry, can you still get Lund sunvisors for the B and R models just wandering. Ron
  5. That EM6 that i turned up had the 6 speed air shift dont know the number but it had 5.55 rears it was gutless the old 285hp with 3.87 gears would run off and leave it, Herb is that show up in Richland Center Wisconsin a good show, in the WOT it looks like alot of trucks. Thanks Ron
  6. I was lucky enought to come across one of the original old style Mack injector pullers at a swapmeet in Indy last year, the guy had a $25 price on it, the part number on the paper work has this part# S-572. the price when new was $ 139.77 i bet you couldnt buy it for that now. Ron
  7. I would say the engine was built March 25 1963, i will look at the book to see if i can find the other numbers. Ron
  8. JJ, iwas looking through an old ( 62-72 ) truck Motors manaul it looks like the pump is a 270, the engine casting numbers in book for a NHCT 270 are 181120 or 181110, 270HP turbocharged, there should some engine block casting numbers some place, maybe on the sides. Ron
  9. The 270 is a 250 with a turbo, someone might have changed the pump or the turbo gave up and they changed the exaust manifold and didaway with the turbo, i saw a B61 that had a turbo and someone took the turbo housing off and put a plate over the hole, i bet it had too much fuel with out it. with out the CPL number you might have to narrow it down what everybody told you, there should be a date code on it some where. as far as compression release i had a NH 250 and the N927 didnt have one. Ron
  10. I know a guy that bought a wrecked Superliner and bolted a Cruiseliner front section on it, other than the length i think the Cruiseliner is the same fame.
  11. Cummins also made a super 250 and super 270, the 270 had a turbo they were 927 CID they have 4 rod bolts for each cylinder i put one in the 67 F model that i have a few years back. Ron
  12. Are the injector lines external if so it could be a 220, if there in the head without a turbo 250, with a turbo no aftercooler 270-290, with turbo, aftercooler could be 300,350,400. look on the left side of the engine see if it has BIG CAM cast on the engine. Ron
  13. I would get rid of those wedge brakes, change the spiders you will be better off, if those wedge brakes where any good there would be more on the road, find an old R-F model with the short S-cams that you ajust on top. i think B61Fred was changing his over to S-cam he might be able to tell you. Ron
  14. It dosent mater what the featured truck is, there are more MACKS at Macungie than any thing else.i would like to make it to Roger Gearharts show in Litiz,PA. this year. Ron
  15. If you want to see Macks you need to go to Macungie you wont be disapointed, been there since 2000 wont miss it for anything, one hellava show and swapmeet, they have buses takeing you to the Mack factory all day Sat. Ron
  16. I have seen a couple of 350s one 2 valve and a 350 4 valve with intercoolers,i have a 300+ in mine with a intercooler no clearance problems, ran a hose from the tipturbine along side the interfender to the front to draw cool air, all 673 engines are the same size no mater what horsepower they are.
  17. I think 1980 R models were the first year for the airride cabs, you might check some truck salvage yards. Ron
  18. Brad did you find windshields for your F model, i was getting some glass cut for my B61at a glass place they said they had b61 windshields in stock, went to look and i think they looked like an F model. Ron
  19. Once you go you have to keep going back, there is enought nice people to talk to and things to do it ranks right up there with the best, my truck is in the body shop getting painted so i can enjoy driving it out there this summer. see you guys out there. Thanks......Ron

  21. I had that big oil filter on mine, you can take the parts from a 237-300 like Mc OZ said, make sure you get the right gasket, i put the wrong one in mine and the oil pressure didnt come up right away, with the spin on filters the oil pressure comes up alot faster. Ron
