  2. That is one of the best Superliners i have ever seen, that would make those pete guys drool.
  3. The C/50 Chevy uses 10 hole on the rear, you could see what a truck tire shop would give you for them.
  4. I seen Macks with 8 hole pilots, as well as other trucks dont know why they came out with those, maybe weight??. Ron
  5. If it is a double over from the factory it would be RTOO, and high gear would be up to the dash , if someone switched the gears around it would be forward, but a factory overdrive it would shift like any other trans.
  6. I agree some with scott i know some guys that own or drives peterbilts, kenworths and alot of them have attuides, they think there sh&& dont stink, they have there own click which is all right with me.when you seen one pete you pretty much seen them all.they have the longest wheelbase, biggest sleeper, biggest stacks, they take an old truck that might be good looking and put so much junk on it that you cant tell weather it is an old or newer, i will keep my old macks, never even thought about buying anything else! Ron
  7. I dont know about the old tranys, but in my 63 B61 i run 85-140 gear oil, i put a gallon of 85-140 Lucas gear additve in each rearend and my 13 speed roadranger, i use Lucas hub oil in the front hubs. Ron
  8. I have seen only one in a KW back in the early 70s cant remeber anything about it or what it looked like. how many here have seen the ( Big Six ) at the Mack musuem 885 CID, man it is a big engine, i would like to have seen how it would have pull a hill. Ron
  9. I bet you have a 2 stick 6 speed, you shift it like a 5 speed, you have a low-forward,dont know if you are to use all 5 gears in low, and 5 high gears, 5 reverse gears, someone else might be able to tell you if you can use all 5 speeds in low. Ron
  10. Rick, both of your trucks are good looking are you planning on going to Macungie next year or is it too far, would like to see them out there with all the other Macks. Ron
  11. on the board he goes by Bigdog , he is a hell of a nice guy i met him at Macungie , if you go back 2 weeks you will find his post on steering wheels Dec. 5. Ron
  12. If you are lucky they will come out , you might spray some blaster around it. a crowsfoot pry bar works good if you dont have an injetor puller, there is a flat copper washer at the bottom, if it dont come out with the injector use a flat screwdriver to get the copper out. i put a little grease on the end of injector to hold washer and antiseize the rest of it so it will come out easy next time. Ron
  13. alot of cities have a laws about idleing trucks, someone must have ordered an automatic shutdown, you should be able to bypass it.
  14. I think he is talking about the shadetrees, good looking truck, but in the sunlight i bet it would realiy shine

  16. I was checking a mack engine #s the other day, i know an ENDT676 is a 285-300, but the one i have is a ETSZ676,i was wondering why it would read ETSZ676 if it is a 300. Thanks Ron

  21. I think it is a bolt on deal, i have seen a couple of B models and an R model that has a 4 valve head with a tipturbine. Ron
  22. If you can find a airshift 6 speed out of around 1988 mack i think they are an overdrive transmission.
  23. Those IH DT466 are darn good engines, dont know what everybody else thinks, parts should be easy to find. Ron
  24. Those old 2 valve 237-300s are damn good engines, they pull there guts out and still keep running,i dout if there is a engine out there that small that is working as hard as they are, my 285 has been running high EGT for about 4 years still runs good and dosent use oil. Ron
  25. Trent i have a 76 285/5 speed on a hard pull it has been running 1100-1150 EGT, on flat ground it will run 900-1000, you need to get the wiring,if you shorten or use differnt wiring it will not read right,1200 is too high ,1125 is max, i think my pump is getting worn out letting too much fuel in,you might check your air filter. Ron
