  1. You might look at a F model it looks like the same cab just lower on the frame. Ron
  2. Great looking Superliner, looks like it just came off the line from the Mack factory. Ron
  3. If you have tandem axles with mack rears look down at the rears from the passenger side on the carrier there is a flat spot on it ,the raito is stamted in the carrier, you might have to scrape the grease or rust to fine out. Ron
  4. That sounds high, i had a loose valve seat in my 285hp 2 valve i bought a new remack head it cost me $451.00 ,i already had a head gasket, total for everything to replace one head myself was $571.81, all genuine mack parts, the parts man gave me a discount but it sounds high. Ron
  5. I found a 96 CH frame at a salvage yard, it has the hendrickson built airride with mack rearends, i thought about sliding the frame over the top of the B61 frame, i was wandering if the hendrickson airride was a good suspension or i should go with mack airride, i all ready have a newway out of a superliner, but i dont like the arms that hang under the rearend, which is the better of the 3, i can buy the frame and rearends for $1000 they have 421000 miles on them , it has 4.42rears, what speed would it run with a RTO14613 and 22.5 hitred tires. thanks Ron
  6. A few years back in the late 70s early 80s there was a superliner in Lafayette,IN. with a KT450, 13 speed, mack rears. dont know what happend to it, i heard it ran good. it needed the long hood to fit under there, tight fit. Ron
  7. The ETAZ673 is a 300+ which is a 315hp, it is a thermodyne, it is made for 9, 10,13,15 speeds. RPM range is 1450-1900, if it came with a engine brake it would read ETAZB673A,i have one in my 63 B61, the front mount is the same, you have to use your front hub and pulleys, water pump from your 711, and the balancer from the 673, you might have to use the R model rear engine mounts. Ron
  8. Dale, there is a freeze plug on the end of the head, the old style has screw in plugs with Orings the newer style has drive in plugs. Ron
  9. I installed a 237,5 speed in a b61 used the front snout and pulleys, water pump, used a R model top radiator hose, starter on the left side had clearance, had to raise the cab, radiator suport up 1" for bellhousing clearance, used R model rear engine mounts , i have a 315hp ,13 speed roadranger in a 63,b61 they used the old bellhousing with the starter on right side bottom, all 672cid engines are the same size inside and outside, the differince is the horsepower, fuel pump, turbo, intercooler injectors,i pulled the cab when i put the 237,5 speed in made it alot easyer. that is my 2 cents. Ron
  10. Fireman it is a 9513, great shape, Delphi is 70 miles north of Indy, i will take $500 with the mack bellhousing. i had 4.33 rears in my B model, installed 3.87, i thought a double overdrive would be much so i installed a single overdrive 13, took the top cover off checked it out, shifted good, with the single overdrive with 22.5 hi tred tires it runs 82mph , i think you have to use a pull type clutch but do not know fo sure Ron
  11. Good looking Mack Western you got there, looks like its been taking care of. hope you can get it. Ron
  12. I been wondering the trucks from Down under have a higher horsepower rating than in the USA , the 315 is 320, the 460 is 470 down there, is it because emission. Ron
  13. Rob do you have a spacer under the valve cover maybe about 2" ,the jake sets on top of the rocker shaft so they raised the cover up, the dynatard valve cover sets on the head with one wire in the middle of the cover, the wire for the jake is on the spacer. Ron
  14. If you use a direct transmission it dosnt make it run any faster if you have install a 9 or 10,13 speed, if you want to go faster you need an overdrive transmission, i have a double overdrive 13 speed roadranger. i also have a bellhousing , mack to fuller trans. Ron
  15. The jake brake works alot better than the dynatard, the only thing the dynatard is good for is making noise, the jake brake on the 673s dont work as good as the cummins, cat, like trent said i think they work better on bigger engines. Ron
  16. I heard they discontinued the E9 because it wouldnt pass emissions, i was wondering if anyone knows what the cubic inch of the 3408 Cat, just wondering compared the E9. Ron
  17. I have a 1988 Mack engine tune-up specifications manaual, the torque on the E9-500 is 1660 @ 1300 RPM, the 400 is 1325 @ 1300 RPM, the 450 is 1495 @ 1300 RPM, operating RPM range is 1300-1900, i did not know you could lug them down that low, i dont know if the later 500hp had any more torque or not. Ron
  18. where are you located, i was at a junkyard in Illinois last year they had 2-3 in some old cabs. Ron
  19. Thanks Andy i could not aford to do it all at once, i have the sleeper and back of the cab done , just have to do from doors foward, work never stops, i forgot to tell you the first tipturbine engines 73,74 ,75, had hood scoops, didnt go thru the air filter. Ron
  20. When Mack came out with the 300 series engine in 73, it had the first air to air intercooled engine, when it first came out they introduced it as ( new cool power ) it is the same as tipturbine that bolts on the engine. Ron
  21. Does anyone know anything about the Euruka, Illinois truck show sat.
