  2. phone # is 717 633-3751, that part# looks like a Mack number, most Mack part numbers end in P1, P2, P3,etc.

Welcome to BMT Kelly, were you and your B at Macungie 3-4 years ago, i remember talking to you. it had 262 cummins with 3 sticks and a long wheelbase. are you coming this year. Ron
  6. The american oil companys are just as greety as the arabs!!!
  7. I have a B61 tandem axle tractor with a 300+ 13 speed with overdrive 3.87 rears i cruised around 1600 RPM bobtailing and i got 10.3 MPG, didnt think that was bad, havent heard about older engines without turbos or maxidyne engines. Ron
  8. you could have a broken main leaf in your spring, with the top sattle the way it is made it is hard to tell look at each end of the spring and see if can see the T leaf rubbing anywhere. if your pads are tight then you could have a broken spring. Ron
  9. there could be a pluged vent on top of the tank.
  10. The picture you had yesterday shows you have a robert bosch pump, there is a plug on the back side of the pump, take the plug out have someone turn the engine over by hand with the fuel stop out, there are 2 flat screwdriver ajustments on the goveneor half way around from each other. you have to turn them same turns on both sides, you have to use a long flat screwdriver through the exaust manifold, push down while you turn. i would go 3 turns to start with each one. i turned the rpm up on a 88 300 went from 1750 to 2200. hope this helps let me know. Ron
  11. Skip my truck ran and pulled good wouldnt known any thing was wrong with it, the only time it would make the popping noise is when you let off. Ron
  12. I had a 237 and a 285 with a popping noise, you could hear it through the air cleaner when you let off the accellator petal and when you shut it down, mine was a loose valve seat on the intake. Ron
  13. I have a 72 R model with a 5 speed and it rattles, there is 3 plates that acts like springs that holds the center ptate that you can get to keep it from rattleing, i put a new clutch in my B model with a 13 roadranger and it came with them. no rattle at all. Ron
  14. I had a 72 237 and the hard surface on the lifter was breaking off and ate the cam up. i would ajust the valves and the tick would come back. the lifters were more than the cam. Ron
  15. I had a couple of them leaking over the years, all i did was tighten them and they stoped leaking, you need a long boxed end wrench, and a long ratchet with a short socket. Ron
  16. It has been awhile since i had a mack transmission out, but i looked at my 5 speed today, there is a little plate behind the shifter with two bolts the springs are under there, i think a 6 speed is the same.
  17. You might take the main shifter loose and check the 3 springs under the shifter, might be a weak or broken spring, high gear is the one on the left. i think the high is a stiffer spring. Ron
  18. the 315 puts out 1050@ 1450 rpm, the 285-300 puts is max torque at 1200 rpm.
  19. Barry i talked to a guy today about making polished stainless steel visors for B models, drove my truck over to the place so he could look at it, as soon as he can get it in for a pattern he will call me. i told him there might be a few guys intersted i will let you know when i found out . Ron
  20. I have slid the tandems to the rear of the frame bolted it and welded a frame behind the tandems where there is no stress on it. Ron
  21. on the 5 speed Mack there are 2 magnetic plugs you can takeout on each side of the transmission catches the metal shavings, dont know about the others. Ron
  22. I, like Maxville had the fuel lines collapsed on the inside , the long ones you might try blowing through, the short ones you could take off and look through them .
  23. Hi Fred how are you doing, i put a 237 in one of my B models, i would use the 237 balancer, the 673 waterpump will work on the 237 housing, use the crankshaft snout and pulleys from the 673. i used the top raditor hose from a R model cut it down to fit, the bottom hose i took a piece of exaust pipe ( the one that wont rust) bent and expanded it to fit, the rad. and engine are differant sizes. if there is anything i can think of i will let you know. Ron
  24. Barry, do you know where or if you can get those stainless ventvisors for B models i have a pair on my R model, i think they would look good on a B. Thanks Ron
  25. Herb the truck has an American Bosch pump, the 300+s that i have seen had a Robert Bosch pump i dont if it has been detuned to a 285 or not, thanks for reminding me about the other posts i forgot about it, is it easyer to take the pump off to do it or just take the side cover off. Thanks Ron
