  1. James i have a 350 Bigcam the top of the radiator gets hot (140}degrees but the bottom is {45}degrees and the motor runs 180, the water dosent seem to circulate. did they have problems with all bigcam cummins waterpumps or do you think it could be air pocket in the system. Thanks Ron
  2. There was a guy around here that had a 78 Superliner that had a Cummins 1150CID KT450,13 speed roadranger, on camelback rears. the engine compartment was full. dose anyone know how many KTs where installed in Superliners??.
  3. I like the old Motorola built by (Prestolite) i think Leese-Neville bought them out Mod.# 81HA2070VB, the tag on mine says ( made in USA by Prestolite }, i had better luck with those. where i work they put on a new Delco lasted about 1 month( made in china } ended up putting a new L-N no problems Ron
  4. Larry what all do you need to install it on your truck. Ron
  5. I have a RTO14613 in my B MODEL i had problems when i was slowing down the high-low would fallout and start grinding then you hit the throttle it would go back in. i pulled the backhalf off the high-low gears were woreout letting it slid out when coasting. Ron
  6. Looks like a limiting valve for front brakes.
  7. Thanks guys for the information. rhasler i thought it looked like 3.65, the way they mark the newer ones with all those little punch marks its hard to tell. i was thinking about buying it to put under my other B Model, dose anyone know if $ 1000. sounds like a desent price, it looks to be in good shape. Thanks again Ron
  8. I came acrossed a 98 Mack frame with hendrickson built Mack airride,Mack rears for $1000.00 it has i think (can't hardly read it) 3.65 gears. would 3.65 rears be too high for a 237-300 with a 10 speed 1070 Mack or a 10 speed direct roadranger, can anyone tell what ratio by the vin# 1M1AA18YXWW081869. it had a 454 in it dont know what transmission. Thanks Ron
  9. Thats is what i used but i rounded the corners off to get the raidis i needed to match the plug.i had to heat mine to get it out. Ron
  10. The Transtar II and F Model Mack were the best looking cabovers on the road, they had style. Ron
  11. The guy has a listing on (for sale) Mack b67 931 388-2729 in the afternoons. Ron
  12. This summer there was a guy in Columbia,TN that was parting out a 69 CF 600 i bought the doors off of it. it looked like it was pretty much all there.i will look to see if i still have his name and number. Ron
  13. All you need is a 14" clutch,a 350 cummins has about the same power as a 285 mack.i ran an R model with a 285 maxidyne 5 speed and it would run with all day long with 350 cummins 13 speed. Ron
  14. You need to be on the other side, there is a 6" hose that connects to the aircleaner. Ron
  15. Since it is a firetruck i would say it deflects the hot air off of the under side of the cab. i drove an F model with 300+ and the shifttower would get pretty warm from the tipturbine blowing on it. if you are not driving it alot you might leave it off. you might take the hose off the tipturbine and reach in there and see if you can turn it by hand i have seen them froze up from sitting. Ron
  16. Terry how many U models do they have, are they parting out any or selling them together.thanks Ron
  17. The early Cruiseliner and superliner had axle mounted steering box. maybe the Hayward CA. had them and the ones made in Allentown had frame mounted. Ron
  18. About 5 years ago i put airide under my B model,i had a set of 3.87 rears i wanted to install instead of the 4.42 that came with the airride. i wanted to use the power divider lock so i took the pinion housing off and took it to my Mack dealer and had it done. the 3.87 had course spline,4.42 had fine spline so i had to buy a new outer cam $350 5 years ago. the locker outer cam was about 1/2 inch longer because the notches on the front to lock in. i also had to drill and tap the back of the carrier to accept the bracket for the torque rod. Ron
  19. If you want to take the pinion housing off take those 12 pointed bolts out, you could take it to your Mack and have them press off and on and torque the nut for you. make sure you keep the shims lined up there are oil holes in them.while you have the side cover off make sure the 2 bolts inside are tight. Ron
  20. My brother just bought a Mack that has a 350 cummins (2200 RPM), direct 10 speed roadranger,3.87 rears,22.5 tall rubber i thought it would at least run 70 mph but the GPS only showed it would run 63.dose that seam right.
  21. Take the bolts out right behind the powerdivider it will come out. Ron
  22. If you have a power divider lock you might try engageing it going straight and see if it still dose it,might tell you if the cam and peanuts are woreout. Ron
  23. Are you sure you dont have a broken bottom leaf, it is hard to tell on like 78 and newer camelbacks they have that webbing between the U bolts. do you notice any thing rubbing at the T end of the spring. Ron
  24. how bout an International DT466 and allison automatic out of an old school bus, should be able to pick it up reasonable.
  25. you might get a 24/24 but you wont get a 30/30 in there,as far as the park brake most trucks use 2,the Macks in the 70S came with 4 and the dump trucks still use 4 park brakes.
